^^^ Nice.
I don't own a Saturn. But I have debated installing a mod chip in one of my Gamecubes.

When you all play on original hardware, do you still have CRTs lying around? Or do you use newer cable solutions to hook up to more modern TVs? I'm assuming that finding CRTs this day is probably not worth, as they've probably mostly broken down and/or are overpriced by collectors if they're the nicer PVM models. Been wanting to play on some original hardware for some reason lately. But I have also been emulating more.

I play the older systems on a CRT. They’re actually pretty easy to find. I’ve picked up a couple on ******** marketplace. They can be found really cheap or even free a lot of times. The ones I’ve picked up work perfectly fine. Only problem is finding a stand since CRT’s are much heavier than today’s TV’s, and most TV stands made these days aren’t meant to hold that much weight
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a nonlinear, nonsubjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

hook them on to the flatscreen
you just have to find what's the best possible native resolution and use the correct cables
so don't go using RF or composite cables since this will be bad lol
I'm in Europe so SCART is my go to for everything up to N64 (RGB mod)
Gamecube and Wii through component cables (I have the Japanese GC component cable, stupid expensive atm)
Dreamcast through VGA
also my TV is only 32 inch so not the biggest+++ miscin' at work crew +++

Me too! Those are very rare and hard to find tho, wished I had one.
I don't have a CRT but have been thinking of getting one. I see them every now and then on local ads online, but usually I'll just use one of my older flatscreen TV's to play on them. For the Saturn I did buy the HDMI adaptor and surprisingly it's a good upgrade to the RGB cables. Most of these HDMI adaptors are usually crap (discoloring the image etc..) but the one I bought was great.
This is the adaptor that I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For comparison:
Edit: Screenshot taken with my phone camera, white reflection on the right side was from the blinds of my sliding door and not actual imaging issue on screen. Also not to scale, but you can get the idea that the image is a lot crisper on the HDMI adaptor.

Not always true for HDMI adaptors though, for example, Pound HDMIs are notorious for being terrible. I have the Xbox (original) and Dreamcast HDMI cables from Pound and I would say they are worse than Composite, specially with color misrepresentation.
There's some videos on YouTube that talks about the issues:

these comparisons are with component, not composite
RF < composite < S-video < SCART < component < VGA < HDMI
I always try to get the best possible native signal through the right cable, not a fan of the adaptors but if it's between an adaptor and composite it's probably gonna be better with the adaptor lol+++ miscin' at work crew +++

Tempted to try those Retrotink cables that take the composite to HDMI with a N64 I have. It'll prob look awful...my computer monitor is 4k so i'm assuming it might be heinous lol. But if it was even serviceable, i'd rather spend 50 bucks on a cable than have a CRT in my house haha. Got enough room on my desk set up for a retro console or two without changing anything around. Could be cool to pop in to them from time to time with the original hardware. Brb 3k computer next to a 1k monitor hooked up to a N64. Would be pretty lulzy looking.

I did end up picking up a CRT on ******** marketplace. Works well. Buddy is giving me a bunch of older systems/games he had at his parents house. You guys have any sites you buy from regularly? Or just look at like eBay reviews. Less concerned with the best possible deal and just that they’re reputable, etc

Any pinball players up in here?
I wish I could afford a real table or two, but I have a blast on Virtual Pinball.
Got a YT channel here about it:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCO5...XXwbt4A/videos

I’ve been watching YouTube more. Tons of retro collectors video room tours on there for inspiration.
If I get into it I am thinking will focus on Nintendo. I did have PlayStation ce a lot of them actually but I was an idiot we opened them and threw out the box.
Yeah in to bump this thread
I shall hope to add my own updatesBLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

I would tend to agree if all you want to do is play the games. However, for collectors it's another story.
I have retropie and numerous consoles/handhelds that are modded to play retro games. I mostly collect handhelds (Gameboys). I find myself wanting to play on original hardware more so than playing on a retropie setup.

Those collectibles aren’t coins or old baseball card sets or anything but while I like games, I was hoping they’ll be worth something in the future. Like enjoy my run, then sell whatever I have later… sometime before I die. I mean does the grading system tack on any extra money? If so I’d honestly take it if it means anything to a potential buyer.
