    Wheeeee, here we go! But the beasts are obviously less thrilled than I am.

    OBVIOUSLY, super exciting. Thank you Marshall28 as well as my favorite MuscleTech reps, FBS, KoweanGuy, and Yoojungl, for the opportunity.

    So, about me. I have lifted off and on for many years, but have been training like a powerlifter with Big Wade for the last 18 months. I had some crap last fall and this winter - vertigo, work stress, sprained ankle, de quervain's and hip impingement so it's been one thing after another affecting my training. All of that also caused a bit of weight gain so I'm working on that as well. I'm stoked to try Clear Muscle to help maintain the muscle mass I have currently while I'm trying to lose some fat, and if I could actually build strength/recomp I would be THRILLED. I can't wait until I'm back in PR territory on my lifts, so I'll be evaluating how my strength progresses over the course of 12 weeks while following my normal program.

    I'll be posting my workouts for sure. Not sure how much detail I will post about my food, but certainly will update here and there.

    As far as baseline goes, here's my PR's in the big 3:

    Bench - 123# on 11/13/17
    Squat - 200# on 8/15/17
    Deadlift - 280# on 10/30/17

    Better late than never! I have never done sumo deads, so I have no idea which I like better. I figure my conventional form is hit or miss usually, so why add something else? I try to just listen to my coach. I guarantee he's not reading, but that's a shame because I'm sure he thinks I aggravate him on purpose

    Thanks! Working weight right now is sooo looow though, and still feels hard. Well, I guess if I'm being honest, 6/10. But I'm lazy so that's hard for me LOL

    I go to an Anytime Fitness, love going to the smaller gyms that don't have a ton of people.

    For the longest time I was going around 7pm during the weekdays, thinking after work would be too crowded etc. About a month and a half ago I was going to be busy the rest of the evening, so I stopped after work for a quick workout...it was dead! I get there about 4:45pm and its amazing! The cardio equipment is usually pretty full, but the weights area isn't bad at all. Since going after work I haven't missed a day!

I'm sure it's a scam, did a little research so I know what the scam is (or at least what others have been offered), but I want to hear it from them. Especially since their message to me was "There isn't any catch" and "This isn't spam or anything like that, I swear!" At least the person messaging me seems to be an actual person who can communicate clearly unline the Dreaming Elegance and Bfirst Sixers (Ready Player One reference ). I am playing with her somewhat though, I've asked her twice how many grams of L-leucine is in a serving of their whey. We shall see LOL

    My gym is less than a year old now and is a dedicated lifting gym. I think we need more members for the owner to start actually making money, but it's also 24 hours with access code. It's usually busiest after work 5-6pm or so, but have seen at most like 5-6 other people in it. Often I'm all there by myself, so the sheer volume of this team (cross country running team? Town is at 8000 feet so we get a ton here for altitude training) was off putting. We have three racks a couple benches, a couple boxes, a bunch of dumbbells, etc. I commandeered my own rack, TYVM, so they used both of the other two racks, both boxes, all three benches (to sit on most of the time, but I guess I can't complain because I would have only used them for my camera ), barbells, dumbbells, medicine balls, kettlebells... They had some sort of crazy circuit going and I have to admit they used the space well considering it's a gym in the space of a 2.5 car garage and there was well over 20 people. Of course at the end they used every available foam roller too to do a group class of some sort. I'll blame them for my DOMS because I just wanted to get out of there Hahahaha! I told the owner I hoped she was making money off of them!

    Update on scammy scam scam! The scam was that they want you to be an affiliate where you can make a commission with your affiliate link. It kind of pisses me off (but no need to waste more time on them) that they target people without perfect bodies and then talk about how the company is going to help them with breaking into the fitness industry. She wrote a lot about not needing to look perfect and how they wanted to prove their products work, and that they were going to use their IG and Twitter influence to promote these affiliates and give them "more fame and sales." Pretty predatory for those who are a little self-conscious but want to be a "fitness influencer"



    But of course to get started, you need to have tried the products to be able to promote them so they gave me a code "for a certain percentage off" to order a stack with a 30 day money back guarantee. Stacks started at $150 and the code gave a whopping 10% off In my response I compared them to Avon or Amway and said they were obviously flooding the market with affiliates so that nobody really made any money except them. I wouldn't be surprised if this was an MLM where the girl "recruiting" me was also an affiliate and would get a bigger percentage off what her affiliates sell. Oh FFS, I don't even want her crappy supplements. Maybe that shiit works on millennials but not on suspicious old hags like me.



    Regardless, I hope this shows up in a google search - TC Nutrition is a SCAM

    This session kicked my ass. 195 moved well but after 15 singles it felt pretty hard. But as Big Wade says, "feelings don't matter." I did my first working set of front squats and thought I was done, took my squats shoes off and everything. Whoops. By the time I got to SLDL I was kind of done. Grip was giving out and my thumbs basically said NO to hook grip again. The rest of the night I could barely grip anything, my friend who barely walks for exercise was opening up jars for me and shiit.



    Last thing. I know in real time Memorial Day was yesterday but in log time, it's today. I had the pleasure of hanging out with a 95 year old WWII Veteran this weekend and he told me a story. We were talking about his kids, the career decisions they all made, the choices between following their dreams and taking the "bird in the hand" and he told me a story about a choice he made that he still thinks about. He was a football player in high school, and received a full football scholarship to Notre Dame. He was in the his first year of college when WWII officially began. He could have stayed in college, but he thought about all the young men back home who were putting their lives on hold to fight this war, and he decided to leave school to enlist. He did end up returning to college, and playing football for his local school in the midwest, but he never returned to Notre Dame. He doesn't regret leaving to fight because it was what he felt was right, but he sometimes is up at night thinking about the what if's. Hug a veteran if you can.

    Squats + Deadlifts in the same day? That's asking for death!

    I actually know a lot of people who combine them. I actually separate them, and alternate my "heavy" days, each week. I'll do Squats during leg day, Deadlifts during back. Each week one will be a heavy day, and alternate the next.
