On about 1/3 of my days I get about .6g/lb of protein, sometimes .5g/lb (The other days are at about .7g/lb).
I know, not ideal. It's not a good excuse but I tend to like and eat a lot of fruits which messes up my ratios. I do get my surplus in every day though (3,200 cal or a little more).
Am I still going to capture most of the gains of eating a more ideal amount of protein, or is this a significant hinderance? Current lifts are 220 / 300 / 405 B/S/D. I used to be a lot more strict with intake though.

Wonderpug on here, years back, had research supporting as low as .6g/lbs as a minimum protein intake
Current minimum recommendation here is .7g/lbs so based on that and above, likely no problem considering as well your age of 32
If you were way older than that and in an energy deficit as well, then you'd likely do better optimizing MPS with more protein due to anabolic resistance that occurs from agingNASM CPT

Haha now I'm curious about them. Seems when I see those documentary commercials, some of the lifers are crazy big. Is it genes? Do they have access to steak, or smuggled roids?
I guess we can't really answer but as you suggest, they're probably just lifting like crazy for years on a diet that's barely adequate in terms of protein and overal calorie surplus.

Correctional Officer here.
Simply put, most have access to plenty of food from canteen, special purchases, barter, and the normal meal they get from dining; they can get plenty of protein easily. Tuna, mackerel, salmon, and Vienna Sausage is all cheap for them to order.
They also have pretty much all day to do nothing but exercise and eat and rest. Believe it or not that makes a huge difference, being so consistent every single day.
Roids can be an issue in some places but is actually pretty rare since there are far more profitable substances with higher demand to sneak in.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.
