Is Raw (with Wraps) almost like Equipped now? There is not much gap now. Numbers are increasing a lot.
I think 100% Raw is where the real strength is.

Numbers are constantly increasing as the bar is raised competition will seek to raise it higher. No one knows what the limits are. Once someone achieves an all time record it puts that in reach of the next generation knowing it can be done.
Strength is strength regardless of what's used. If you don't like it then don't watch it or compete in those feds. F'offMy Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

Fun fact: equipped lifters compete against other equipped lifters. Raw/wraps against other raw/wraps and raw competes against raw. And for clarity, strongman compete against strongman with their own sets of rules.
Their own levels of strength are tested against people on the same playing field as they are.

If you're wearing a belt it is equipped. If you're wearing wrist wraps it is equipped. If you're wearing clothes it is equipped.

Shoes are equipment. Even in the late 1800s it was suggested to have a solid base on the foot for optimal performance. Including wrist wraps was known to help support bigger weight. Just wasn't suggested for beginners to help strengthen their wrists.
"Another item of importance is clothing, which must, above all, be loose, and rubber-soled slippers should be worn. I do not advise the use of wrist straps. For the time being you obtain support, and apparently your wrist is strengthened, but the strength is only apparent and not real. Should you be compelled to lift without your wrist straps you would miss them, and your wrist would not be equal to the strain." ~Arthur Saxon circa 1905My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal
