In this situation you are single, have no kids, and no debt.

2012 F150 bought used as a lease return.
Edit: I didnt see the no wife no kids thing.
With the extra garage space I probably would have kept the Z06 and added an old Fairlane or something.

200k a year still isn't enough to afford anything crazy. To be honest I would likely just keep what I have and just go nuts with it.
2013 Mustang GT (been paid of since day 1)..Already has a Whipple.
And my daily beater 2012 F150 (it has been dropped 2/4 and wheels have been powder coated gloss black since this pic)

At 200k/year in the town I live, changing nothing about my current life (basically single, no kids, minimal student loan debt).......I would buy a house here (roughly 1400/month for a really nice 4 bedroom...small town USA)
My disposable income would be roughly $9000/month after tax/bills/food etc.........
This is just my off hand pics....would probably be different......(i've already changed it since my original post)

Fun 2014 GT500

if you're making 200k with no major expenses/kids as OP listed and you can't manage a fun car i don't know what to tell you. even getting a base model $30-35k v8 mustang/camaro type would be a good fun weekend ride.
if you just aren't a passionate car guy than whatever. but if you want one and wouldn't pull the trigger at 200k with no kids than you never will. sometimes in life you have to just get what you want.

LOL indeed. All these recommendations for 2 vehicles, sports cars, exotics etc @ 200k a year. The correct answer is, 1 (ONE) sensible vehicle. Can be a nice car, luxury within reason, a big ass truck, whatever. BUT ONE vehicle that doesn't cost more then ~$550 a month if financed with a substantial down payment.
There are other financial priorities outside of buying a car: retirement, investments, buying a house, getting married, etc.

Is that all mustangs go for?
I just honestly haven't thought much about it. I make decent money but just the thought of buying a car is stressful to me.
Right now I have a newish V6 accord sedan and honestly it's the fastest I have owned (lol). My next car will be a sportier one but I have no reasons to get one anytime soon.Last edited by ecs33; 05-01-2018 at 09:57 AM.

i'm sure you can get a 2017 or maybe even a baseline 18 mustang GT in the low/mid 30s.
all i'm saying is at 200k with no kids, if you ever planned on getting yourself a fun car, that would be the time to do it. especially if you're in your late 20s/early 30s. once the kids start up you can probably forget it because you'll always have a dozen reasons not to, even if you're financially secure

Having a kid in one month. I think it's swingable with just one kid, but we shall see.
But I don't give a chit. My wife can have the van or whatever. I'll have the sports car when it's time to replace my Honda.
That's what my dad did when I was a kid, lmao. I remember he had a Chrysler Conquest (Dodge?). To this day that was his favorite car.Last edited by ecs33; 05-01-2018 at 10:16 AM.

things that go low and slow
things that go fast
things that get dirty and muddy
I like taking cars apart, making them real shiny, and putting them back together. It is better to die on your feet, than to live a lifetime on your knees
a coward dies a thousand deaths, a soldier dies but one.
The odds are great
But my spirit is strong,
My faith unbreakable,
My blood is pure.
I SHALL ENDURE!
I WILL ENDURE!
the strength of a gesture, a thought with no voice
