$200k a year salary, what car do you buy?

I'm close to that and my combined total on cars is ~70k but I buy multiple cars for family reasons. Porsches CAN appreciate for a bit but then they can drop 5 yrs afterwards as porsche develops new tech but at least then you won't be "under".

Average is actually $49k, just looked it up. Also, I wouldn't go to California even if someone paid me to, in fact, I declined a business trip to Cali few months ago.

The median income in America for an individual is something like 40-50k per year. The median HOUSEHOLD income is still around to 55-65k. So in this proposed scenario lets say if you live in NYC or the Bay area you are earning more then 4X the median income in that area.

Middle class is making right around $30-35k year. Average for a married couple is right around $45-50k.

This is my situation exactly (though I do have debt in the form of a mortgage) and I have a 2016 Corvette and a beater 2003 Explorer.

200k after taxes is more like 150-160k depending on where you live. Then you have housing, retirement/savings, insurance, blah blah blah. It's a comfortable life but I wont be buying Lambos anytime soon lol.

200k year is a lot for an overwhelmingly majority of the population minus the big cities like that. I don't even count those cities since their cost of living is so damn high. Silicone valley shouldn't even count, that's a millionares area.

There aren't that many places outside the SF, Seattle and NYC where it's pretty easy to pull 200k if you have a good job, and all these places are looking at $2500 rent (or in SF way more) for a 1br in a central area.

if im making 16k+ per month and whatever my wife's salary is I could probably afford to spend 5K monthly on car payments but I would give her the RS3 and drive the GT3 or ZR1 every day.

EDIT: just read the OP I'd get the new M5 or Mercedes E63 AMG wagon. If its one car its really inconvenient to half a 2 seat coupe.
