Has a fictional character ever inspired you to do something?

Has a fictional character ever inspired you to do something such as reach a goal? If so then who? Why and how did they inspire you? What did they inspire you to do?

Yes. I was into art/reading long before lifting. I started studying muscles to better draw Howard’s Conan (this was before Arnold).

So, being more powerful and muscular like Conan (and the depictions by Frank Frazetta) is what inspired me to start lifting.

I just finished watching the first season of The Punisher, and I love his no nonsense attitude. Characters like that who just get stuff done, Green Arrow had some fantastic training montages and in turn I started looking into the regime of the actor Stephen Amell himself.

And when all else fails and I am in the middle of a push up or curl and I can feel my discipline waning, I like to look down and picture my limbs as mechanical, like The Terminator or something similar... To really enforce that 'Machine' sense of self and peace of mind when training hard. Whatever helps me get through it I guess.
