    HELP: bulk of cut?

    I’ve been yo yo dieting for about 2 years now and haven’t made too much progess. I am currently 5’9 170 lbs and am not sure if I should cut to around 10% and then start a steady bulk or slow bulk for at least 6 months to pack on some much needed muscle and then cut. bf% is about 13%

    you're not 13%... most calculators, etc are very inaccurate... you'd have to have a lot of muscle at 170lb already, and thus probably wouldn't need to be asking this question.

    a pic would be useful, but you probably want to cut first, unless you're happy with having some flab and don't mind that.

    Understood. I just posted two pictures to my gallery since I can’t upload to forum since this is my first post. Let me know what bf% you think I and if you think I should bulk or cut. Definitely some fat left to cut but don’t have the amount of muscle I want. Thoughts?

    You in the northern hemisphere? You gonna have your shirt off a lot?

    If so and you're feeling like your bf is a little high, then cut first and save your bulk for after you're done having holiday pictures taken of you lol.

    If not, or if you don't care, then it's just up to you and your own preference/priorities.

    up to you really, you could cut maybe 10-15 lbs if you really want to be leaner then go on a nice bulk afterwards.
