Aware me please... wouldn't losing BW make skwaat easier?

Ok, so I know a little about this stuff.. mass moves mass, kinetic chains, surface area, etc...

    but still....

if someone was 225 and did 3 plates...

then did a SLOW cut to like 150 or something, and presumably regained all muscle lost by 165 or so...

wouldn't that be a lot less weight they would need to squat up???

obvs some of that weight would be on legs, and obvs the weight wouldn't be on the bar so different leverages / curves

Still, it seems like if you had a big tummy and flab all around, then it was gone, that it would be a lot less weight around the mid/upper section.

Am I just completely underestimated the mass moving mass thing? Or the amount of muscle / strength lost from a cut? Can someone explain more of this to me, or links... been searching around a bit...

I get the concept. Take a lifter, Person A, who can squat 500. Now only remove half of their body fat, Person A'. What can Person A' squat? In theory it can be more because they don't have to "waste" energy on lifting as much body mass.

Ignoring all body mechanics, things just don't work this way. What it takes to go from Person A to Person A' plays a HUGE role in this. Training, diet and recovery will play a much larger role than a little bit of fat loss. By the time you've lost that fat, the rest of your body is also changing.

Its a question that just doesn't matter. Get yourself to a bodyweight you are comfortable with, and train at that weight. Cutting weight (fat and muscle) will usually result in overall strength loss. So its best to train at the heaviest you are comfortable with.

    Also, what 308 said.
