My 7 and 8 year olds have expressed an interest in working out with me. I let them do pull ups, back extensions, push ups, plyo work, etc but they want to learn how to lift.
I don't plan on having them lift real weights for building muscle at this age but thought it may be good to get them a kids 2.5kg bar or something like that to start working on form so they'll have proper form beat into them at an early age.
has anyone used these working with their kids and are there recommended ones: I know Rogue has a 2.5KG bar, there is the kids OSO bar but I don't really know anything about any of them and thought some of you may have experience.
Any thoughts?

Get something rackable. The Rep fitness technique bar is a good price. I have a troy technique bar that is about 18lbs and with my two coc1.25 collars is about 20lbs. I'd also get a couple light bumpers just for deadlift technique. Otherwise I just use nothing on the bar but collars so far for my 8 year old. He's excited to.just be able to press the bar several times. I think rep fitness has special hardened 5lbs bumpers that would be perfect.

I have an old MDUSA aluminum technique bar, that is rackable and has oly markings. My girls loved it growing up, and the only problems I had with it is that the sleeves didn't revolve, and maximum weight was 110 lbs. The kids used techinique (10 lbs) and bumper plates, and felt they were lifting big weights, lol. Out of my two daughters, one became barbell rat in the gym, the other one likes machines and cardio better. I highly recommend getting something for them, especially if they are interested.
Good luck.
Rogue and Vulcan have technique bars, but either aren't wide enough, or don't mention that they are rackable, the REP bar below is:

I have Rogue 10kg bar for my 10 year old which he hardly uses . But once in a while i tries DL and wants to get into Oly lifts. He wants his "own" bar. Hence i kept it.
It is real nice and can be racked. Distance is between sleeves is 51 to 52 inches.
I would get 10kg one. Once kids are have outgrown then you can use it for curls and what not..[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]

The best of them all was the old Pendlay Junior Bar. I believe I remember seeing Donnie Shankle jerking over 400 with it. Probably way more bar than any kid really needs, but it's good to know the bar is solid. Definitely looking for a Junior bar as well right now, but not looking at one of those aluminum, technique bars, looking more for a real bar if possible. The REP Junior bar looks interesting even though it's aluminum. That not being in stock has me searching a bit more.
