Apparently you are required to buy the garbage coffee at Starbucks while waiting for a business meeting.

Both the one on 202 and in the Court. And on Main St in Manayunk for that matter.
I was there with a laptop for a long period of time - and thrown my cup out. Was told I needed to order something or move on. I've seen people come in and sit down without ordering anything and be asked to leave - which I assume is what happened here. I don't think it is too much to ask that if you are going to chill out, order a cup of coffee.Boomer Rep Crew #1

liberals attacking liberal businesses
killin their own
starbucks isn't wrong here, they are not a public restroom. Holding a business meeting and using the restroom while not purchasing something is grounds for being asked to leave IMO.
Even If I use the restroom at any business, if I have to go pee, once I come out I will purchase something even if its a dollar item, just to "say thanks" for the restroom.*** Free Thinker Crew ***

I guess I am the only miscer that has met other business associates at Starbucks and Panera. Further, I must be the only miscer that arrives to an establishment early and doesn't order any food or drinks until the rest of my party arrives.
You guys must have strange business lunches or work in a cube.

I haven't heard any first hand accounts from the manager. Can you post them please?
I did hear from the Police Commissioner that fully backed his officers
This isn't relevant to the story. What is relevant is a lot of these city locations have it very clearly stated that restrooms are for patrons only. Restrooms are code locked with bathroom codes printed on the receiptsTraining log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165829701

Nope, I always order when I arrive because I believe that is the correct thing to do. If for whatever reason I felt it necessary to wait for others, I would probably tell someone at the counter that I am waiting for someone and we would order when everyone was there so they knew.

The manager is no longer with Starbucks. But it has been widely reported the police were called because they hadnt ordered anything and so far not a single person has come forward and stated they were creating a ruckus. You never struck me as the CT'er type....but I have been fooled plenty of times.

Im not blaming the police..although it is puzzling 6 of them showed up.

My guess is that you didn't interact with the staff in a way that would have them ask you to leave.
From what I have heard - I am guessing it went down something like this - they ask to use the restroom, are told the restroom is for customers only, they don't order anything and then proceed to sit down at a table. At this point, whoever they asked to use the bathroom probably watched them sit down.
After that who knows - but I am guessing that the manager just immediately called the police to ask them to leave instead of getting involved himself.
My next question then is this - why did the police arrest them when they arrived? They could have bought a coffee or they could have left and waited outside.
Did the police move to arrest them immediately instead of giving them the opportunity to leave on their own? I doubt it. So it sounds to me like it might be them trying to make some kind of statement.Boomer Rep Crew #1

So what type of work do you do? Genuinely curious. Im trying to figure out the line of work where boyos routinely order drinks and food before the rest of their colleagues arrive.

CT has nothing to do with. There are always 3 sides to a story. We've heard one. I'm not one to pass judgement until I've heard them all. Call me prudent.
Its never happened to me. When I need to use the restroom at an establishment, I patronize that establishment.Training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165829701

I cant wait for one business to just say F it and not put up with this and say you werent asked to leave because you were black its because you were a retard. If they were white it would be a non issue, they would have just left or bought some F'ing coffee. They were probably asked to leave or buy something and said F wypipo i dont have to buy anything you cracker devil. Then theyre surprised cops show up.
