Hi guys,
I just want to share a bit of my experience with Intermittent Fasting.( with caffeine on an empty stomach)
In my past, I was one of those guys you believe in the magic of Intermittent Fasting and how caffeine fasted give me great energy, focus and great workout etc...
But the truth is, My mental heath wasn't doing so great.
A couple month ago I made a psychosis, which happen mainly due to an imbalance in the brain neurotransmitters(low serotonin).
I can say, Pushing Intermittent Fasting with coffee, energy drinks or Prenworkout drink can mess you up pretty bad.
It might be a way to suppress hunger in the sort term but in the long run it's gonna make you crave more foods likes sweet, savoury, massive cheat day/binge, alcohol.(These foods temporarily raise serotonin levels and make you feel better, so your body craves them. In the long run, though, they actually deplete serotonin levels and cause significant weight gain.)
What I'm trying to say despite the fact that I'm not an expert,
Drinking caffeine fasted and eat potato chips at night sound to good to be true.
Hope Y'all learn from my mistake and also keep in mind that mental health is way more important than looking lean.

Idk of the empty stomach thing is true but when I started working out I noticed slight anxiety after 6 months or so. Now like 4 years deep I can tell when it starts to get really bad.
Bench: 45lbx4,500 reps
Deadlift: 100x6,500 reps
Squat: wtf is "squat"?

Yeah sure I was drinking coffee before my breakfast. Like a lot of people actually do when they practice Intermittent Fasting.
I don't drink alcohol and yeah I'm controlling myself not to binge.(I'm always hungry never satisfied.)
What I mean is that if I have a beer I would enjoy it a lot.(more than I should)
If I do any substance that boost my serotonin/dopamine quickly I'll enjoy it a lot.(like any drugs)
I don't do drugs or anythings for that matters.
I'm trying to getting back to a normal state without anything but supplement(tyrosine,5-HTP)
and eating whole foods multiple times a day.Last edited by truckerfit; 04-05-2018 at 10:10 AM.

Caffeine doesn't contribute to psychosis in any way, fasting/calorie deficit (among other things) on the other hand will precipitate/worsen psychosis in the mentally ill (remission or otherwise) and can even make healthy people psychotic (Minnesota starvation study)
Something else very few people seem to know is that insulin makes serotonin. In keto your body becomes insulin resistant and your brain becomes insulin sensitive because you have low insulin levels. Doing keto incorrectly will really do a number on you for a whole range of reasons.
Also it's a terrible idea to mix fasting with stimulants.
