    NFL Draft 2018 - Boom/Bust list

It's a yearly tradition where all the draft wizards submit their boom/bust lists and then months/years later someone bumps this thread to point and laugh at them or to display their draft wiz game

So who's your boom and bust players for this upcoming draft?

Extra points for people submitting their picks before we know who drafts them.

I was on the bust list for Darnold for a while but I'm officially off it. I see a Rivers esque skill set/career for him.

Therefore my bust qb from the draft would be Mayfield.

Boom players are Rosen and Ridley.

    Boom:
    S. Barkley
    Q Nelson
    D James
M Fitzpatick (depends on position he plays. He will be a good safety)
    R. Smith

    Bust
Daron Payne - not many bama linemen live up to the hype. Maybe not a bust but will be overdrafted IMO
Josh Allen - has a cannon but needs work and probably will get thrown into the fire before he's ready
Orlando Brown - Horrible combine which leads me to believe he didn't bother to prepare. How will that attitude work in the NFL
Josh Sweat - lackluster career at FSU

Inb4 the 49ers draft all my busts forcing me to come back in here to proclaim I messed up and meant someone else.

One of the reasons I want Landry is I'm afraid we'll draft Sweat. That dude scares me. I'm always weary of 5 star prospects who leave school early after mediocre seasons.

i'll play and i'll go with guys who can go either way at the top 3 positions.

    Boom QB: Josh Allen
    Boom RB: Ronald Jones Jr.
    Boom WR: Courtland Sutton

    Bust QB: Baker Mayfield
    Bust RB: Derrius Guice
    Bust WR: James Washington

probably will be wrong about Allen but I'm becoming a fan of his so I hope whoever takes him sits him for a year (or 2 even) to let his mechanics and brain catch up to his raw talent.

If Cleveland is crazy enough to draft Allen then I'll have to throw him into the bust list instead of Darnold.

Landry has a good burst, it just takes him too long to attain it, so it's practically useless. His run defense vs Clemson was beyond awful. He showed lack of effort, like he doesn't care.

Alexander allows too much separation and uses athleticism to recover on bad throws. Vernon Hargreaves and Morris Claiborne got away with the same exact thing and were massive disappointments.

Oliver just plays slow with poor route recognition. Think he would be better off as a safety.

Oliver just plays slow with poor route recognition. Think he would be better off as a safety.
Landry takes too long to attain good burst? Isn't that an oxymoron?

Landry's get off is elite, not sure what the hell youre watching man and Clemson game wasn't one of his best but undraftable is a GIANT leap.

Not to mention Landry had some impact plays including a hurry/hit that led to a pick for BC

I'm really hoping it happens. The reactions will be priceless.

I heard the tin foil theory floated that these rumors connecting Allen to the Browns are coming from the Browns with the intent of giving their fans a few weeks to come to terms with it so they don't riot on draft night lol.

lol. Honestly they're probably kicking themselves for not taking Wentz and all these people trying to pretend he's the next Wentz are in their heads.

One thing is for certain if they draft him they better not let him play next season no matter what. But I'm sure Hue Jackson will find a way to fuk it up.

Whats with all the Calvin Ridley bust predictions? He's one of the safer picks in this draft: athleticism, polish, and production. He may not be a superstar, but I have a hard time seeing him not at least have a productive career. He has very few holes in his game. Are you all just drawing names out of a hat or something?

I don't get it either. He's on my boom list. Best route runner in this class and criminally under used at Bama.

as someone who said Ridley will bust.... exactly like you said, he likely wont be a superstar, but you know damn well a WR hungry team is taking him top 10. And top 10 picks need to be superstars. Hes not gonna be a Julio or Amari Cooper level guy.

What is an Amari Cooper type of guy?

    48 catches for 680 yards?

Two 100+ yard games out of his last 24?

Please don't ever speak Cooper and Jones in the same breath unless you are just listing Alabama alumni.

Ridley, at a minimum, can carve out the mediocre career that Cooper has.
