    Lazer Brazilian

    Hey!

    Today I went to a consultation at Ideal Image for laser hair removal on my PT`s recommandation. She has only good things to tell me, but I read there are different experiences around. I`m curious if some of you have experience to share! Although I`m supposed to be a god candidate, they can`t guarrantee the outcome.

    From what I read and hear, experiences varies from "great, best thing ever", to "don`t waste your money" etc etc

    Another thing ladies, if you also compete (I compete in Bikini), how did you manage to have the laser sessions in between your competition preps (if you do several competitions in the seasons)? I mean, you can`t wax, you can`t have a tan etc. It`s loads of things to keep in mind! I was adviced to avoid having treatments during the summer since you can`t have a tan.

    How many sessions did you get? I was told to expect 7-9.

    Looking forward to hear your experiences!

    I completed my laser hair removal treatment two years ago, including Brazilian. Overall I’m very impressed with the results! You need to remember the fact that you will need a treatment or two a year.
    I’m a Figure competitor and I see your concern about having laser getting in conflict with competitions. The good thing about Laser, is that you don’t need to come in for treatments at a specific time, if it’s two, three or four months between doesn’t matter, except that the whole process will take longer time.
    I had 7 treatments, and have had 3 “after-treatments”

    @angelxcii
    I read about increased sweating in the area, what’s your experiece?
    What’s the difference between a "Hollywood" and a "Brazilian"?
    In what way did you have to prepare for the treatment?
    Is you skin absolutely smooth, or do you have any kind of bumps etc?
    What’s the minimum time between two treatments?
    How much did it actually hurt?
    Did you do other areas as well as the Brazilian? Cost?

    No, I believe that should be similar to waxing (or shaving). When you’re “clean”, you can feel more sweaty due to the absence of hair.

    This I had to google, I don’t think every salon uses the term Hollywood:
    Hollywood = all gone
    Brazilian = leaves the option of keeping a little, like a tiny strip etc.

    You have to let any tan fade out, you can’t be tan when treated. You can not wax the last 4-5 weeks! I was told to shave everything off before first treatment, even the tiny landing strip I was to keep. (It’s not that easy to shave absolutely everything off by yourself..) It’s very important that you don’t have any hair, hair will actually burn you when they use the Laser.

    All smooth.

    Pain is of course subjective, but I won’t lie to you and its definitely painful certain areas.
    Take an Advil before you go and be sure you get the numbing cream!

    Yes, arms, thighs and legs.

    Brazilian is typically $250-$300 a session, other areas depending on their size. You can often get a discount when you have several areas treated.

    Since the first poster mention Ideal Image, they’re known to be rather pricy! So unless you’re able to get a very good deal, you should definitely check around, also check reviews! I’d say a good review is more important than the price itself, keep in mind that this is a very intimate procedure and you sure don’t need to experience any less than the best.
