    Exclamation Hiit workout vs weight training

    A quick overview;
    So basically i have been 7 weeks following an excercise program and i also changed my diet. I siccesfully lost more than 12 kg, since i was 83kgs and now im 69.5 kgs.

    I cut out on all the junk food, sweets and sugary drinks. I also started bodyweight training 5 times a week(daily for around 25 minutes) (training such as : squats, push ups, mountain climbers, crunches, planks) i also sweat a lot during such workouts.

    Today i decided to focus and start going to the gym. I started off with a 10 minute light jog to get my heart rate up and then focused on training my chest with the typical chest routine (incline/decline bench press, butterfly) and i also included abs workout.

    The thing is that i barely sweat, but i can feel my muscles ache ( meaning that i can feel the actual workout to work)

    So the question is, do i still burn fat if i dont sweat and focus my time at the gym (weight training) , or should i continue doing HIIT training ?

    Ive read that to burn more fat i should do more reps with less weight, is that true ?

    I currently dont have a lot of fat but still have that little extra fat i want to get rid of.

    Congrats on your weight loss.

    You are mistaken, HIIT doesn't "burn fat," Burning more than what you consume in a day "burns" fat.

    Weight training over HIIT, the raise in your bodys muscularity will also raise your TDEE meaning in the long run you "burn" more fat
    Without Proper calorie deficit, there will be no fat loss, plain and simple.

    No exercise is needed at all to lose fat... just diet.

    Weight training is needed if you don't want to look like a twig after the fat is gone.

    Yeah man, at 3.8 lbs lost per week, you probably lost some muscle mass as well as fat. How much did your pant's size change? Like a couple of sizes? It should have.

    I'd say do both. You'll need weight training for muslce building and there are some studies that say HIIT really kicks up your metabolism. I'd do HIIT only three times a week, it can really take a toll on your body.

    A pound of muscle only burns about 6 calories a day at rest and slightly more during activity so You'd have to add a LOT of muscle to even make a slight difference in metabolic calorie burn
    If you don't get what you want you didn't want it bad enough
