What do you think is going to happen if you do?

5g is a relatively small amount. It’s not going to kill you.

    Everything in moderation.

Water isn’t healthy if you drink too much of it.

What has sugar done for you for the last 16 years? Gives you a quick, delicious form of energy. It doesn’t change its function because you’re going to the gym.

Eat the damn sugar.....if you’re THAT concerned about it look into sugar free options, but they’re gross. Moderation....I add raw honey to stuff in place of table sugar because it’s a lower GI food and has lots of other benefits. But still in moderation.

5g is barely anything, I wouldn't worry about it at all. If you're actually only consuming 5g of sugar per day, thats incredible.

5g? I know we are talking about processed sugar but still, just by eating fruits and even nuts have sugar that can make up to way more than 5g

Is OP sure he/she is counting right?

uh, no. all that "sugar is poison" stuff is nonsense.
ya know what's not healthy? starving your brain of nutrients it needs to run. The human brain runs on a 60:40 split. Only organ in the body that can't run on just kb's. and estimated g of glucose burned by just your brain is way over 5g. It'll vary from person to person, but the last BLS course I took estimated somewhere around 80g/day used by your brain alone in an average individual.
Now if you're getting other carbs you may not be starving it, but to be utilized in the body those carbs are broken down into, guess what? sugar. glucose to be more specific.

long story short, don't freak out about sugar.

I'm sure you already ingest much more than 5g of sugar daily. And you're still alive.

Why on Earth would you ever think that you should avoid sugar lol?

I eat half a box of cereal after every workout. I must be really unhealthy, fat, and out of shape if sugar is bad for you.

Ultimately, every carb you eat is broken down into sugar. Don't demonize it out of ignorance!

Focus on quality carb sources and not on total sugar intake.

Doesn’t make a lick of difference....I eat all kinds of refined sugars regularly and I’m no worse for wear. You’re getting hung up on mainstream hype.

What risks? Possible you’re confusing “refined” sugar with High Fructose corn syrup? Cane sugar is cane sugar is cane sugar.......HFCS isn’t great for you but generally you can steer clear of high doses by not drinking soda, not eating candy....

It's the same more or less, both are just sugar.
The sugar from fruits can even have more fructose. Table sugar is half fructose, half glucose, sugar from fruit can have a different ratio, and if anything, the fructose part can get unhealthy, but 5 grams is so negligible.
“Fight one more round. When your feet are so tired that you have to shuffle back to the centre of the ring, fight one more round. When your arms are so tired that you can hardly lift your hands to come on guard, fight one more round. When your nose is bleeding and your eyes are black and you are so tired you wish your opponent would crack you one on the jaw and put you to sleep, fight one more round – remembering that the man who always fights one more round is never whipped.”

They are when you break down the macronutrients, but fruit will have more micronutrients, sometimes fiber, and will digest differently than table sugar.

BUT at the end of the day there is no need to demonize sugar.....

I don't only eat 5g processed sugar, i eat a pizza with 20g sugar once a week or every other week, since i get damn tired of chicken, eggs, and all that ****...
But that's pretty it, i don't get why it's so wierd though? Whenever i crave for sugar i just go get some food that is sugar free since that's really what sugar craving is, you being hungry...

But, i've read sugar feeds bacteria in the mouth giving bad breath, bad teeth, gives obesity, diabetes, hearth diseases, and that is NO vitamins or minerals, and it actually robs your body from minerals and vitamins, it's even more addicted than *******, and makes you fat, gives cancer, liver diseases and much more..
Sure it might not give me any disease or whatever but it sure MIGHT give me diseases and crap like that.. Don't start with this bull**** "Well, the sun MIGHT give you cancer too".

As mentioned, moderation being the key word.

Lot of things can cause harm when abused. Granted sugar is pretty high up there as a main suspect.
