A question about the beginner routine

I got a question about the 5x5 beginner routine

Can i do the compound exercises with like 4 sets of 10 instead of 5 sets of 5 reps?
It's my third week and I was doing a DL today with 66 pounds, and somebody suggested I do the exercise with 22 pounds but I do 10 reps
So I wanted to ask you guys since you have more experience what should I do?
And by the way my goal is to add some mass.

Novices should follow programs as written. A well designed program doesn't just randomly pick the rep and sets randomly, good programs balance volume and frequency if you change one you have to change the other to compensate or the the program because unbalanced.

The advice the person gave you was poor advice too. 4 sets of 10 at 22lbs is a total of 880lbs moved , but 5 sets of 5 at 66lbs is a total of 1650lbs moved. So they were asking you to halve your workout capacity on that exercise.
    Bench -216lbs
    Squat - 268lbs
    Deadlift - 375lbs
    OHP - 134lbs

A lot of gym bros will give advice of that nature. You'll have to make sure that you're being educated by the right people. In this case, this individual doesn't know what he's talking about. Some lifts are suitable to be done in a higher rep range but deadlifts are not one of those. Stick to the rep ranges that are prescribed by the program.
