I’m a big proponent of “Active Rest” or inserting cardio appropriate exercises during the main lift....burpees, jump squats, thrusters and push presses, high knees, mountain climbers.....battle ropes!

I'd assume you'd have stronger and better lifting sessions if cardio was saved for after instead of wearing yourself out before.
Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!

Cardio should be done after lifting with the exception of a warm up.

    Yup,
Coming straight from work, I do a brief LISS cardio to refine my mindset.
    And then jump to weights.

Another option is to space out cardio & weight training (i.e, cardio morning and lifting in the evening)

There have actually been some recent studies around this topic. As far as strength gains go, separating them as far away from each other has shown to be the most optimal. After lifting > before lifting, but I don't believe it was a huge difference. If you aren't after the last 1-5% difference it probably won't matter either way.

What are you actual goals to accomplish? Depending on what you need the answers can differ. I do try to keep them separated though. Cardio AM, Weights at Lunch.
