Looking to put on weight at a slow pace .5lb a week, I've come across a few forums about the 40/40/20 ratio and I am quite intrigued, the problem I am having is making it happen. I've tried it but failed! To gain .5 my daily estimate is 2800kcals, I need help with it. I'll start by the protein I like! Eggs, Tuna, Chicken, Greek Yogurt. That's all I can really think of from the top of my head. Carbs I like - Bread, Beans, Pasta, Bagels, Rice. Fats - Butter, Cheese.

Do not use ratios. Hit protein minimum of .7g per pound and fat minimum of .4g per pound; from there fill remaining calories as you like with carbs/protein/fat. Carbs have no minimum, exceeding minimums for fat/protein is fine.
Eat whatever foods you like.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.
