    Water during lifting?

I drink a lot of water before and though out my lifting days but I don't drink any water at all during my lifting sessions I've heard that it's not good something like it reducexs the blood that can go into the muscle or something but hydrating your body should make you stronger? The other day I had a drink of water before 3RM with a weight I've done before for 2 and could only get 1 Rep.... So what your verdict on water during lifting?

Drink when thirsty and you will be fine.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
    1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

If it makes you feel any better, the entire gym is also drinking something during their workouts. I don't go 2 sets without a drink.

    Classic broscience.

I tend to get a dry throat from heavy breathing. That's really the only reason i drink water in between sets. I don't think it's a necessity.

x2 on "drink when you're thirsty". I happen to go through 30-40oz of water during a 45-60 minute workout, but it's probably different for everyone.

I made a handy flow chart to help decide if you shpuld drink during your workout:

    Are you thirsty?

    Yes —> drink water

    No —> don’t drink water

Or you could just turn on the TV and watch any sporting event to see athletes drinking water/gatorade during their bouts. But i mean hey they're only at the pinnacle of their respective sports, being paid thousands if not millions of dollars to be elite. But i'm sure you should just go ahead and not drink any water during your lifting bout bc some random bro told you not to. Makes sense.

Huh? I thought a 3RM was when you can for something, oh, I don't know, for 3??
Only hitting something for 2 does not a 3RM make.

One day at the gym the water fountains were not working and I did not have a water bottle, so I did a full workout without water and it was very unpleasant. This really isn't rocket science, but please don't hesitate to drink something during your workout if you are thirsty.

I bring along a stool and have somebody pour water into my mouth, over my head and fan me down like a boxer between rounds between my sets and also have them give me a motivational speech to go out for the next round.

I drink about 10-12oz as part of my pre-workout drink and I'm not thirsty during.
After a shower, I eat breakfast and drink another 10-12 oz as part of my post workout recovery drink.
    Plus a cup of coffee.

Even when I'm doing HIIT and losing about 1-2 lbs of water weight over 25-30 mins I'm not thirsty during.

I used to have a home gym setup. Kept the apartment at like 68 so I never got thirsty during workout, which was also only really 30-45 minutes. No sweat plus I'd chug the protein shake right after so I liked being a little more thirsty. I never got thirsty during that.
I just started working out at an actual gym that I just swear turns the AC completely off and its gotta be like 80 in there. After my first set of 5 squat reps my shirt is soaked. By the time im halfway through ive had to towel off like 10-15 times and start to get thirsty so I just started bringing a little bit of water. Probably doesnt make a big difference either way just listen to your body.
