You could literally take every thing you just boasted about the 80's and say the same for each preceding decade before it. Except those $19 concert tickets would have been even cheaper, thus technically making each prior decade better than the last (if we're only considering your glorifying terms).

Not at all. I can only speak from a British perspective, but our country was left incredibly poor by WW2. There wasn't much prosperity for the majority until North Sea oil started generating large revenues in the late 70s..so then we had good living standards and no social media/sjw/liberal guilt trip rubbish/virtue signalling etc etc
