No more excuses but a couple questions to start.

    Hi All,

A bit about me. 28 y/o , 6' 2" (189cm) male currently weighing 212 lbs with a body fat of approx 27%. Due to a recent op I'm due to start training again at the beginning of March when I turn 29. Because of this instead of wasting this time I'm trying to do my prep so I can hit the ground running when i do start. I get Married in just over 6 Months time and want to be in better shape by then and then continue to make sure I'm in great shape when i turn 30 next year.

    So the questions.

Due to the short term goal of the wedding (although a pretty decent amount of time) Should I Bulk then Cut before the Wedding? Should I Lean Bulk? Or Should I Cut Now?
When cutting or Bulking i understand the difference in Diet requirements but is there a different programme requirement to optimise these diets?

    Thanks in advance

I would cut and follow a novice routine.

Since you can't lift yet, focus on getting your nutrition dialed in. Eat at a defecit and shed some of that "easy to lose" newb weight.

My problem is I've already lost 14 lbs through diet alone so that newbie weight loss is starting to plateau. I've trained in the gym before and have a good understanding of exercises so I'm not a complete newbie and despite my weight my cardio fitness is good. I've started again this week tracking my calories and macros but want to make sure the figures are right once i start training.

Increase your cardio and incorporate it with a calorie deficit lifestyle.

Hello! From what you are describing to me, I would focus on cutting in your current state, followed by a clean bulk. With nutrition, keep in mind as your body composition changes you need to adjust your caloric intake, deficit AND macros. Revisiting those should help you continue the weight loss, even if not as drastic.
