How they have it set up is kinda weird. You basically play anything and hope he appears after you see him for the first time it starts the quest chain.

I beat him the first time he showed up, then the second time when he showed up while looking for tracks then during the quest to beat him.

As a dual blade user it’s hard as fuk to hit him in a good spot, he’s too tall so you can only go for his small legs.

You can stun him with shock trap and he’s capturable

I could severe normal DevilJho's tail in every game, but this tempered version is really hard to severe his tail. He is too tall (the bigger version is even taller) and he gets up quite quickly after hard knock down. So far 5-6 games i only managed to severe his tail once. I think must have 2 persons to aim for his tail in order to severe it effectively.

can't confirm but my buddy told me you are guaranteed to get a hero stream stone

He has far higher chance of dropping stream stone. There was one time it dropped 5 warrior stream stones for me.

All the other materials are the same...

Not guaranteed. But the chance of it dropping seems is higher than other monsters.

I love and hate the tempered DevilJho, love it cos he is the toughest monster in the game now. Hate it because he is too damn tall, even the GS can't reach it's tail. And when he is hard knock down, he usually will get up pretty fast (a lot faster compare to the normal version). I can't have the max satisfactory when i can't cut a monster's tail... tail cutting is the part i enjoy the most.

I only use GS / LBG / and HH when fighting Jho, using IG is really a pain in the ass as Jho moving too damn often.

I loved HH (LBG and IG too). But now i have switched to GS due to it is really good in cutting tail + give very high satisfaction when launching the last charged move.

There was a HH user using Jho's HH, he buff my attack point to around 1612 (from around 1296), love HH players!

The tempered Jho's activity quest is gone.

We will need to wait for April 6 for the second round.

My comment for Tempered DevilJho : He really is as tough as Capcom mentioned especially if you fight him in a random team. If you are fighting him in a fixed team with organized tactic + fight him patiently + using a lot of traps + making use of the environment, you still have high chance taking him down. The fight is unique, Capcom did a good job.

There was one time i joined a random team, i trapped the monster with the pitfall trap, Jho managed to 1 hit and killed 3 players when he was trapped, LOL.

Hopefully we will have another new monster DLC's announcement soon.

I learnt to use and made a SA just to cut Tempered Jho's tail. Eagerly waiting him to be back on April 6. His tail is mine!

GS is great, while SA is pretty cool.

Dual blade is still my fav but I finally finished my second build last weekend which is a mushroom mancer build using sword and shied. I go full on support while playing in a squad of friends, just kick back and heal/buff so they can focus on damage, it’s pretty fun.

I want to make two more builds a HH using Deviljos but full sos not support, I’ve heard that thing does some serious damage. Then I’ll probably make a bow build as no one in my group of friends uses ranger weapons.

4. GS - The satisfaction is number ONE! When the last charged move connects on the head or when monster tail is cut off (difference weapon has difference sound effects when tail is cut, GS is the best IMO), the satisfaction is just too good.

5. SA - Learned it because i want to cut Tempered Jho's tail. The GS actually is more effective in tail cutting, but due to tempered Jho is too tall and seldom get knocked down (even knocked down he is still able to get up pretty fast), so SA is a better choice. The satisfaction brings by this weapon is pretty high too. Love the rocket-like charged move.

Basically, i love all the weapons. I use difference weapons to deal with difference monsters, or based on the purpose i want to achieve (example, using HH with Earplug - H effects to hunt Kushala so my teammate can hunt it easily, but sometimes i will switch to GS if i want to cut Kushala's tail).

true, I failed both times to do so in those clips. First one, that's what was intended but I forgot their was a slope. With kirin, I didn't realize the R2 + O didn't kick in. I have a zora, diablos. I'm working on the nerg hammer but need some xeno horns.

I'm taking a break from the game for now but I still want to farm and just be ready for when there's more to hunt. Trying to decide my next weapon. I am decent with IG, Hammer, SA, and DBs for now. I want to get good with a GS or a bow...more so bow but I like melee too much

Only reason I havent used Hammer is I'm scared I'll never want to use another Weapon. I love the satisfaction of landing huge hits.

It's funny, when you first play MH you think everything should be like Devil May Cry, when you get to Gsword, you get mad at why it's so slow. Then you start running and gunning with the draw attacks. Then you get used to positioning and the fights end early.

I love dual blade. I love being mobile. I also love being about to land 4-8 quick hits and do good consistent damage as opposed to taking one swing with a great axe And praying it hits.

This. I mean I still play once or twice a week, but I don't feel that sense of urgency anymore. Would get on in a heartbeat if some friends just wanted to go torture some Tobi Kadachis though.
