    Novice lifter here. Why does my appetite increase when i'm sore?(DOMS)

    I'm only lifting to preserve muscle mass and most of my training regime consist mostly of cardio to burn calories.

    Finally did leg day yesterday (squats+leg curls) and 2 days later i'm sore as hell and i realized my appetite increased as well.

    anyone here know biologically on why i'm hungrier when i'm sore(DOMS)? I'm NOT making an excuse to eat more or anything(i'm still on my strict caloric deficit) but i just want to know why i'm hungrier when i'm sore.

    does that mean i'm burning more calories when i'm not working out when i'm sore?(or something of that sort)?
