SD typically votes Republican. Prob has to do with the military presence that is there.
SJ and a lot of techies are Libertarian (but like most Libertarians they dont know it yet). I think they are included because of the money there. Sonoma County would be part of New California but it votes 30% R vs 70% D, I don't know how that plays out. OC is turning Blue so there would be a similar issue there too.

riparian doctrine doesn't apply west of the Mississippi river... prior appropriation doctrine applies. You could argue that theoretically New California could just say phuck it...riparian doctrine applies. Next day...Colorado will say the same and New/Old California would cease to exist.

They won't let it happen. If this went through (which it never will), there will never be a democrat president again.

Surprised to see San Jose area in the good part of new CA, and Sacramento area in the cucked CA- I guess since Sac is the capital they hold responsibility for all the chit laws and deserve it, even though the majority of people there are actual normal rural type folks... would be great to be able to stay in my home state and watch the libtards flee to the coasts.

If you want an honest answer, it is because all my friends and family live here. My career is here. This is where my roots are. I live in a nice suburban City, so i dont have to deal with the ****hole big cities unless I really want to (continue reading to see why i would want to). Geographically, I am in a great location; less than two hours from the bay area (which is great for my music scene), less than 3 hours from beautiful Yosemite (which is great for my bouldering hobby). 5 hours from gorgeous Mendocino. 6.5 hours from Disneyland. 8 hours from San Diego.
Still doesn't change the fact that I don't like paying outrageous taxes, a high cost of living, and ****ty politics that happen in our state.
Luckily, I am a hard working, educated man, so I am able to live a relatively high quality of life for a 28 year old in this state, but that isn't the case for everyone.-You are only as strong as your weakest link-

Geographically, it is not ****ty. Bureaucratically, horribly ****ty. If you read my post, most of my favorite places would be in "New California". The most beautiful parts of our state would be in New California. The only liberal bastion that I spend time in regularly is SF, and that is only because of the world class music scene. There are some nice trails (Land's End, Marin county), but other than those and the fact that I have family in the bay area, i would never live there or spend time in those places.

the taxes this state government keeps adding to people and businesses is crazy. every year its a new thing, the recent gas tax + new yearly car registration fee is straight up out of line.
worst part is the cost of living. brb shacks are on the market for 300-500k, people rather just leave, only people staying here are ones who are rich or been here before the housing prices sky rocketted*** Free Thinker Crew ***

I feel ya bro.
Ive never lived there. Just have vacationed there alot. We ended up spending some time in SF because record snowfalls sidelined a week long backpacking trip. Really liked the Richmond district. There is a city park that right on the coast and inside the building there was a brewery selling craft beer for $1/pint. Wanted to move there after that...then i checked housing costs....nothxjeff.jpg lol.
