So I’m a student and can’t really afford to eat right now because my budget is tight. I’m skinny fat and want to start lifting to build muscle and strength.
I’m eating at a deficit because of budget but was wondering if this combination would make sense. I know I won’t gain a lot of muscle or strength because of the deficit but my main goal is to lower my body fat percentage while making minimum strength gains.
My thinking is that the mass gainer and creative would help with strength and muscle gains while the bcaa’s will stop muscle degradation and help burn fat.
Is it possible that something like this could work?

Bear with me here, but you can't really afford to eat, but are going to waste money on supplements? I want to gain muscle you're going to have to eat at a surplus, not a deficit. You can't build mass (hypertrophy) while at a caloric deficit. So you won't be gaining anything. If the goal though is to lose weight/fat then you're on the right track.
Use the money to buy food, don't waste it on supplements, especially mass gainer (which would be counter intuitive to losing weight) or BCAAs."I'm pretty sure your wrong, but care to elaborate..."

Kren,
My advice to you would be to increase your daily calorie intake and bulk up. You'll notice a huge difference in your physique within 8 weeks. Good eating habits and a solid training program are the keys to success

Yeah, I think the issue is a lack of understanding on OPs part about diet, hypertrophy and fat loss. From my reading he seems to be of the belief that gaining muscle mass (the reason for the gainer) will happen at a caloric deficit because he's using protein/gainer and three amino acids. He did say he wants to....
Totally possible at a deficit, but he's confused about hypertrophy coming from gainer which would be totally counter intuitive if he understood better how diet and caloric surplus and deficit works.
OP, I'd also suggest heading to the nutrition forums and reading the stickies. That should help to correct some poor assumptions and misunderstandings."I'm pretty sure your wrong, but care to elaborate..."

What money you do have should be used on food.
And why would you think a mass gainer is smart if your goal is a calorie deficit? Mass gainer will cost you more in the long run than the quality foods you'd eat to stay in an actual deficit.Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!
