I'm basically about to have shoulder surgery and I want to maintain my legs, so I'm thinking about doing landmine belt squats until I can support the bar on my back again, but full ROM isnt gonna happen without an elevated platform.
I was gonna get two plyoboxes and squat the weight between them, but theyre extremely expensive especially for something Ill only need temporarily. Is there a better solution out there than this?

Can you use a Safety Squat Bar (SSB)? I don't know how much you squat, but I'd imagine it would be hard to use any type of serious weight and it feeling comfortable. Anyway, I'd use SSB to maintain technique, engage the back, hams and glutes, etc.

Using 25 lb plates is usually what I use on my trap bar to get more ROM.
That said, I have built a platform so that I can use 45 lb plates also. It's a little over three inches in height. OP might build something similar, possibly with a channel cut partway down the center so that the plates will be able to rest on the floor. (It's not really clear to me if a U-shaped platform is needed for this application.)

This is what I might do ^^
I still find myself shrugging my shoulders up a little to hold my SSB in place. That's fine for a lot of guys, but if you have just had surgery, it might not be an ideal solution. With pulling blocks, you can make them so that they can be used for other stuff as well.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]

Appreciate all the replies. 25's are out since I only have two pairs and one is bumper plates. I cant go buy hundreds of lbs worth of 25s for this.
Safety squat bar came to mind but doctor says the weight bearing down on the joint will compromise it. :/
I have a leg press but I still prefer free weight squatting if possible."Peace has cost you your strength. Victory has defeated you." Bane

Doesn't sound like you'll be able to free weight squat if SSB isn't an option.
You should still try using the landmine. Although you only have a single pair of usable 25's, I'm sure you can also find a bunch of 10's, 5's, etc. It all adds up. More importantly, you can set up closer to the mine and further away from the weight and use leverages to increase the effective weight you're lifting.USAPL RAW Competitor
