Workout and exercise advice (novice) need help

I'm relatively new to lifting and have just started the strong lift 5x5 program for a short while. However I have some questions relating to workout.

    1. As this is a 5x5 program is it alright to have longer resting time at the later sets of a exercise?

    2. I have added barbell curls at the end of this workout, But i'm not sure if I should do it after each workout session or once each week. I also do not know what the best way is to do this exercise to get maximum benefits from it.

    1. Yes. 3-5minutes for sets is generally recommended.
    2. 2-3 times a week for 3 sets a session would be a reasonable protocol.

    3. Follow to program, embrace resets when needed and don't jump to early.

i feel like 5x5 is not efficient because youre exausting yourself and not truly hitting an efficient set... 1 to 2 warmup sets at 16-20 reps very light and then 8-12 moderate, followed by 1 touchup set, and finally the one that matters, the working set for 7-8 reps, sometime accompanied by a drop set, is what i feel is more efficient way of training. focusing on the negatives during the working set is also a big plus. remember it's an all out set for 7-8 reps meaning total failure. then a brief 20 second rest followed by a drop set of 6-8 also failure. that's my protocol for hypertrophy. i really dont buy into the high volume training but thats just me, and to me that's the meaning of resistance training.
just train 'til it hurts... shock the muscle

In persuing any training program as a beginner follow it as written and complete the cycle.
You've added barbell curls which now makes a different program.
The program was written the way it was most likely because it produced results.
With your experience level you are not really qualified to change things up if you have little training under your belt.
What is your goal with it?
    Strength or muscle?
If your having trouble on doing certain movements correctly get a qualified trainer/coach to get you going the right way.
If not you will always be guessing if your doing things right or not.
    Good luck!
