I believe in one of Mick Foley's book he flat out says that for pro-wrestlers, the neck is almost always the first thing to go. Sucks as she was just getting her life back on track.

Genuinely sucks that happened. I bet Sasha Banks feels horrible and all the catty women will probably give her heat back stage. I hope Paige takes the time to reevaluate her life choices and moves forward in a more positive manner rather than continue the downward spiral she was on before. Has to be really messing with her head for this to happen in something she's worked her whole life for.

I feel terrible for Paige but can't say I am surprised. a 120lb woman with a surgically repaired neck goes back into a profession where neck injuries are notorious. What did people think was going to happen? Kind of similar to our expectation that was can put 56 year old Hall of Fame wrestlers in the ring and then be surprised when they get hurt.
Blaming Sasha isn't the answer. Yes, she has been in the ring with women who have been injured. People tend to forget that each of those women also had a long track record of being injured before they ever met Sasha Banks. Was the kick bad? It looked like it. But how hard do you need to kick a 120lb person to to cause their body to move like Paige's did? Probably not very hard.
The wrestlers who have returned competition after neck surgery is short. The list of those who have wrestled any prolonged time is even shorter. Typically those who have returned have enormous amounts of neck muscle protecting their spine and where they had their surgery. Again, did anybody think this 120lb woman was going to enjoy a long career after having neck surgery? I think a lot of people simply weren't paying attention to reality. If this kick from Sasha ended Paige's career then it was a matter of time when a turnbuckle move, or clothesline or other routine move did it instead.
Women's wrestling has always come under fire for not being at the same level as the men. Their moves don't look real enough, it's not physical enough, it's not believable, etc. Nothing ever seems good enough. And then when a women's wrestler tries to push the envelope to resolve these criticisms something like this happens and she gets raked over the coals for it. I think wrestling fans need to figure out what they want.
The backlash of this unfortunate event is further confirmation of why the Attitude Era would never survive today. People are calling for Sasha to be fired or at least disciplined. Meanwhile 22 years ago when Owen Hart dropped Steve Austin on his head (which was the beginning of the end for Austin's career and an injury he still struggles with) and then showed up wearing an Owen 3:16 shirt, and fans ate it up. Both were unfortunate accidents but how the performers and industry recovered and moved on from it is worlds apart.
What happened to her is unfortunate and if it has indeed ended her career (which it probably has... and should) then it is tragic. It is part of a very brutal business where crippling injuries are more common than a lot of people realize.

Don't care about a pale goth, she sucks and isn't that hot (too me, but none of then divas are anymore) but it is really unfortunate that she can't do what she loves anymore.
Don't care about Snoop Banks, she is boring and apparently dangerous in the ring (only seen her wrestle twice). Outside of selling the a lot of merch to little girls (and man children) she doesn't do much. I cringed when I saw a video of her trying to pull an Eddie Guerrero on YouTube.

FFS guys, y'all actin' like Sasha kicked a lady in the spine, who wasn't ready, who just got back from a long recovery from a spine injury! Oh - waitwut?
No, but seriously, if that injured her, Paige wasn't really ready to be back in the ring. Feel bad for her, but feel bad for Sasha, too. You know she feels like chit over that.- US Air Force Veteran Crew

A problem is that women's bodies aren't meant for this type of thing.
Hell men's bodies barely are. Men with testosterone and more muscle mass and a physical prime that lasts longer all go through injuries and rarely ever are there long careers.
More and more science is coming out about 'soft blows' as well not just the monster chair shots.
Paige was small even for a woman. Pre existing condition. Tough break. They should bring her back as a personality or manager.

Meltzer's take on this:
Meltzer on what happened: ''Paige has been described medically disqualified from wrestling WWE, due to her neck problems. I don't know what as far as she's going to do now. When she got the operation, I don't remember the exact wording but the doctor who operated on her neck told her not comeback. She only did maybe 7 matches before she got hurt and it was a freak accident.''
Alvarez on the spot that did it: ''This was an accident, was probably going to happen one way or the other. It was going to happen [If doctors told her not to]. I mean yeah, ya hope this doesn't happen but this spot shouldn't have been done. Shouldn't have happened to somebody with a bad neck.''
Meltzer and Alvarez then discuss Paige's s****osis and how they always happen to gymnasts. Both of them bring up the fact Paige has been wrestling since 12-13. Meltzer theorises that worsened s****osis and that led to the neck but that is his non-medical opinion.
Meltzer brings Daniel Bryan up about how all the outside doctors cleared him but WWE wouldn't but Paige got told not to by outside doctors but WWE cleared her.
Alvarez suggests commentary for her but Meltzer isn't sure if Paige is right for it. Alvarez argues the companies pro-woman stance right now would suit it but Meltzer argues the best talkers aren't always the best commentators. He suggests coaching or she might ignoring doctors and going to the Indy scene.
Overall, not a lot of new info on the situation. Nobody is really sure where she goes from here since in ring was really where she was the best.
Edit: Why is s****osis censored?

Lol sloots gonna sloot. She comes from a trailer trash type family so it's not really a surprise that she made bad decisions.
Wouldn't really classify her as a whore like Sunny or someone was back in the day. Melina was a big whore too, used to bang the whole locker room while dating Morrison. Kelly Kelly gives me whore vibes too lol.
