I don't even play video games without looking up guides and ****. How the hell won't you put in some time to learn at least about the basics of lifting and nutrition?

Reading Starting Strength and Eric Helms' Pyramid is all you need. Then look up videos on youtube about good form, ideally you hire a coach for a few sessions to teach you the main lifts. That's it, you are done, now it is time to stick to a routine, lift, eat, rest and don't make a big deal about it. It is that easy.

But in civil law when an agreement is created and there is deceit, the agreement will be annulled and the person who used the deception will have to pay everything back and possibly extra for the damages.

These fake naturals who sell supplements and claim that they achieve their physique because of that are frauding. They are willingly frauding people and selling them lies.

I find this an interesting legal debate. If someone uses a scam to steal your money, there are consequences. I don't see how fake naturals are any different.

Its the same for any 'sport', I know all the sponsors for lance armstrong were mega pissed when it came out he was doping. I dont know how the contracts were or if they got money back or what though.

I imagine if they were smart there would be something in the contract to address it.

truth is, 90% of casual gym goers would be better off just running starting strength. Unfortunately it's that 90% who will spin their wheels endlessly doing dumbbell variations for an hour followed by curls and abs.

They're new and don't know what they're doing

I get the feeling that most people that have been lifting for a while feel like they need to assert dominance so to speak, over the new people

It's like an elitist sort of mindset. It's like an adult version of picking on Timothy in the playground. Timmy the lil tard is playing in mud and enjoying himself... meanwhile the cool kids are all watching Timmy... "Look at Timmy, such a lil retard, doesn't he know that his elbows should be tucked? Lol, I know right? Probably thinks a single slice of white bread will make him obese. Looool, right?, he'll never be jacked like us, let's go over there and let him know how unaware he is". Or something along those lines, by putting down and making fun of the newbies, they feel a sense of superiority over them, and it feels good to them.

lmfao I genuinely enjoyed your story about timmy the tard

    my name is tim

But I don't feel superiority, I stick to myself and DGAF about what people do in the gym - when people start telling me how ****'s done, though, that's when I start to cringe. I started 0 of the discussions I listed in the OP.

The whole fitness industry revolves around selling people unnecessary bullchit as a substitute for willpower. There's so much bullchit information out there that for average intelligence noobs, it must be difficult to sift through it all to find the truth. That said, most don't even want the truth because the truth is none of the bullchit will replace the need for willpower.
    Routine:

Monday - Curls for the girls
Tuesday - Squats for the thots
Wednesday - Benches for the wenches
Thursday - Rows for the hoes
Friday & Saturday - Crushing punani
    Sunday - Observing the sabbath

Of course it does. A fat person with insulin resistance loses weight via calorie restriction the same as everyone else. If you fed them the same calories of "clean" low carb foods they wouldn't lose weight. What people miss-understand is that insulin resistance is itself a function of calorie intake.

Yes, insulin resistance will change the amount of calories out but not the basic physics or relationship between calories in/out.

It’s all about the anabolic window anyway, brah!,
You can eat in such a way to correct or mitigate some of the issues that come with being insulin resistant...thus increasing fat burning. Therefore, simple calories in v calories out is not for them. They actually can see noticeably different results by what they eat and when they eat it.

It's obviously not all that matters, quality of food, macros and micros obviously matter for longevity and health, even muscle preservation and gain.

Fat loss, though? Calorie deficit is 90% of the battle.

So because you assume the swole fella selling you protein got that way because of the product he's peddling, he should be prosecuted? Neat concept.

    This.
There are so many new studies released that seem to contradict previous studies on the issue. There is an overload of information, but the real problems are fake natties, fake studies sponsored by supplement companies and everyone looking for a quick easy fix.

I'm not familiar enough with common law to discuss it.

False advertising is illegal in the US, it falls under the "they can't do that" clause of the US Constitution, just ask anybody over 60 years old.

That's because when you consider how things work in absolute terms it effectiveness is unequivocal. However, there is much more to the human biological equation than just the equal sign in the middle.

The "...and a diet coke" meme. Basically someone orders something unhealthy and orders a diet coke - people assume they are trying to "cancel out" the unhealthy food with the diet drink, OP is saying that ordering a regular coke would just add even more unnecessary calories. And you know what - he is absolutely right. The general public just tends towards this "all or nothing" mentality like idiots.
