I use it all the time. To me the issue here isn't really calling those places ****holes; they are. You'd hope the President would have more tact than that, since they're trading partners and all, but that's a separate issue. The problem is linking the people from sh*tty places with their circumstances. For most people who believe in American values, you believe that places like Africa or Haiti, given non-sh*tty governance and institutions would be successful, and why not, they have tons of natural resources, plenty of beach-front property, etc. You likewise believe that places like Norway, if led by Mugabe for 40 years, would probably be sh*tholes.

You do realize Africa is a continent & not a country? There are some absolutely gorgeous as well as extremely modern areas that aren't 3rd world $hitholes. Whereas I have been in parts of the USA & a few Caribbean islands that were worse than some of those so called $hitholes.

Not really in my vernacular but I know people who use it.

I usually just refer to places or things as having great "opportunities for improvement."

Oh just remembered, I do repfer to misc r/p as a cesspool... I guess that's close.

I will tell you one place that shocked me was Bangkok Thailand, you will read and hear about a number of Asian countries as being 3rd world, not with Bangkok you shouldn't. They have malls, shops, restaurants, housing, etc that will blow away anything we have here in the states. Yes its true when you get out away from the city it becomes a whole nother country however.

LOL!! I just can't believe the opponents of the President are making such a big deal out of this when there are soooo many more substantive and really great things going on. Hmmmm....is it being done on purpose?

Dearborn is mini-Baghdad. It was always a running joke when I grew up. But then I dated a girl who was born in Baghdad. Most of her family that wasn’t in Baghdad, was in Dearborn. Usually in reference to some of my former places of employment.

It's unfortunate that a closed door session was leaked in this manner as I am sure every President has used vulgarity. I think some subjects should be broached with a little more delicacy though. Either way, not really a story.
