I kind of like that rule. It’s up to OP, but it wouldn’t be hard to subtract the rdl’s at this point. There’s only 80 so far that I know of.

And if there’s a few that we missed, it doesn’t really matter out of 50,000

Agreed. I actually perform all my deadlift repetitions with a complete dead stop between every rep.

Yeah, I also go to the floor on RDL's (always been pretty flexible). I personally don't think they need to be eliminated.
I don't have any objection to eliminating Rack Pulls, or any other variants that are only meant to be a partial range of motion.

Imo deadlifts by definition are from a dead stop, which rules out RDL's. So I guess I'm with Jim.

When I saw the original post, I thought this was going to be real deadlifts only. But I guess the OP gets to define it. I don't have RDLs in my program right now, so it doesn't matter to me. All of mine are classic, from the floor.

    Fellow deadlifters:

Shall these deadift abominations meet Mister Mayhem?

Yay vote ~ All in favor of counting RDLs or deadlift variations where the bar “plates” touch the ground between every rep?

Nay vote ~ For those opposed to counting these deadlift abominations along with the other aforementioned variations where the plates don’t hit the floor between every rep shall be killed off.

    My vote is Yay

    Yay

The variant doesn't matter. All that matters is that it hits the floor between every rep.

Wait, yay means count reps that touch the floor, and nay means don’t count reps that don’t touch the floor?

Heads I win, tails you lose?

Edit: Oh I get it. We’re already getting rid of reps that don’t touch the floor. The question is whether we also get rid of other variants that do touch the floor? I guess I’m a yay then. As long as it touches the floor it’s fine. No need to get too strict about it.

I wasn't going to post my numbers, anymore, but since Neb, the thread originator voted 'yay' and since my dumbbells touch the floor on each rep ... 941 + 29 = 970

It's easy to not be afraid of tigers when you're sitting in your living room watching a television program about tigers. When you're in the jungle where the tigers are, it's quite a different story.

Seest thou the little winged fly, smaller than a grain of sand?
It has a heart like thee; a brain open to heaven & hell,
Withinside wondrous & expansive; its gates are not clos'd,
    I hope thine are not.

The wording definitely confused me as well. If it touches the floor it should be good, since then we would have to worry abut Tng "deadlifts" so not bothered by that. So I guess I switch my vote to Yay.
