I am trying to figure out if I am an Ectomorph or a Mesomorph. As a child I was always skinny until puberty. Then I started to get natural muscle from growing and sports and very little fat. Through my 20s I was in decent shape, never exercised and ate whatever I wanted without becoming obese (186lbs heaviest). I was also never skinny. I can gain muscle if I bust my ass as well as lose body fat.
Now I am 36 years old and my metabolism has dropped so I am carrying a little more fat than in my 20s. The photos where I am lean was just this summer in July. 5'9" 155lbs.
I can lose the fat and gain some muscle, but I only did calisthenics. I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want. The heaviest I have ever weighed was 186 and tried to break 200lbs. but I couldn't stand eating so much and felt sick.
Mesomorphs describe someone who can gain muscle and lose fat and generally eat whatever they want within moderation. That describes me best. However, according to many images I have seen regarding the sematotypes, I appear to be ectomorph. But how can I be ectomorph if I can gain weight?
Any help with an honest opinion of my sematotype would be greatly appreciated. I don't get offended so please be honest. Thank you!

You're a human, like everyone else; body types are junk science.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

It is easier to blame something else for our bodies, than it is to take responsibility.
So every fat person is endomorph, every fit person is mesomorph and every skinny person is ectomorph. Right, that checks out lolFS/ S/ OHP/ B/ DL

I don't go to the gym anymore so above stats are useless.
Only do weighted calastentics in the comfort of my own home!
