not believing it till i see it
we also got told that conor was a ufc employee and after his contract was up around the 1st defeat against nate/ part 2 then he could do boxing or whatever he wants...look how that turned out.
either way Tony vs Conor is next, then the eagle gets the scraps

Have to respect what he has done though. He was a plumber, comes into the UFC kills everyone, knocks out Aldo in like 8 seconds then bails, has already 10s and 10s of millions of dollars then everyone decides to pay him even more money for a fight where we all know the result and EITHER possible result is still positive for him. The final icing, not having to defend a belt and take any damage, get out early and have any new champion tainted with "you didn't beat Conor to get the belt" while everyone argues whether he would have defended or not. Whether he's acting like a dipsh*t now, you have to love how hard he's cucked everyone, a wolf not a sheep that's for sure. Though I am sure if the price is right he will do a defense, but it would have to be pretty fuking high.

This.
Although I'd get out if I was him too. Dude has over $100 mil, he is not a fighter because he loves it. He is a fighter because he had to. There's a reason guys like Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva, Vitor Belfort and Randy Couture fought past their 40s. It's because for them, fighting is/was life. They lived and breathed fighting. Not Conor though, not anymore. He sees dat dere $$$$$$$$ and goes in ballz deep.

Love him or hate him he's a marketing wiz. Him not defending his belts only brings more attention to him; it makes people want to see him get beat when/if he does which is very mayweathery. People start to forget and start to believe hype narratives, and then watch his fight to see if they are right.
And honestly I doubt he gives a **** about getting stripped; all he has to do 6 months later is come back and they'll throw whoever the champ is at him on a "he's back" narrative and probably make more money then if he just defends it. He already did what he set out to do - get two belts in two divisions. Who knows what he wants to do now.
This is high level strategy and if you think Conor isn't trying to be a billionaire then you haven't been paying attention

He’s rich and doesn’t need to fight, but his legacy won’t be that of a great champion. Doubt it really matters to him, he’ll go down as a legend, but not because he was a great champ. When you think of the GOATs Conor’s name will never be mentioned by people who actually follow mma and aren’t blind nut huggers.
GSP, Silva, Jones, Aldo
Look at all of their body’s of work. Conor’s doesn’t even come close. He got two belts, but never really cleaned out a division which is far more impressive.*****Eagles/Phillies/Flyers/Sixers*****

I give conor full credit for basically demolishing and cleaning out the FW division, anything after that is really meh. He was gifted a chance at the title without having to move through the ranks. Yes he capitalized on his chance against Eddie. But dude lost to Nate and won very unconvincingly in the second match in which 1 of the judges called a draw.
Yes you are a champion but imo your legacy as a champion should be defined by how many times you defend it.

Might aswell go out as one of the all time GOATs. Before he went through the fw division everyone (like Chael etc) said it was stacked and he could never beat Aldo or Mendes etc. Then he moves to LW and they say it's too stacked and Eddie would wrestlefuk him (now supposedly Eddie was never a good wrestler). Literally every critic and UFC fights thought Nate would win the rematch, showed he was more than a knockout artist and can overcome his cardio issues and a guy way bigger than him.
Never got busted for steroids or missed weight or lost a belt like Jones, Silva, GSP all done.
Never only excelled outside of the UFC like Fedor
Never got his ass kicked by Cruz and had to move immediately down to a division filled with cans like Mighty Mouse did
Biggest PPV draw of all time in the UFC and it's not even close, put MMA on the map big time.
People hated Mayweather when he was hot, now they like him all old and frail, and they hated Muhammad Ali when he was popping too but now they love him (which Mayweather said when he was hot and getting hated on). Insecure people just love to hate the 'in' legends.
GOAT MMA fighter of all time and one of the biggest combat sports names there will ever be

thats not misc logic thats common sense
Winning a title and not defending it against top contenders does not make you a champion lmfao
theres a reason Silva and GSP were considered GOATs, running through your division against top contenders and NOT LOSING THE BELT makes a champion.
Example : See MATT SERRA, you know when he beat GSP for the belt then got stomped and lost it right back?
The fact that you can condone not defending the FW title since DECEMBER 2015 and Lightweight title since NOV 2016 is questionable.
Hasnt defended either title once in the span of over 2 years, and 1 year for the other, "true champion". Any other fighter would've already been stripped of the belt but we all know Dana loves to guzzle this guy in the backBrazilian Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt

He has the belt so he is the champion dont think anyone can dispute that. Eddie Alvarez lost the title after he won it doesn't make it that he wasn't champion at one time. Yes i know he at least went through the ranks before getting a title shot and to be honest Eddie still has a better resume than McGregor at lightweight even though he lost it. Nevertheless nothing GOAT about it, doesn't even come close to be considered a GOAT run at lightweight for Conor. Still champion though. I welcome the disagreements.

I look forward to seeing him fight again - I wonder if his loss to Mayweather will have humbled him a bit. I think a bit of humility might make him an even better fighter.
Having said that - I doubt he has changed at all. And if he hasn't changed he will still be drawing so much to any fight he's in. To those saying they would retire in his shoes - you wouldn't be wearing his shoes. He himself has said he has an obsession with spending money so...he needs to keep earning it.

so much fighters working so hard and he thinks he should get 100X pay more then everyone else for fighting 1-2 fights a year.
let me just remind you that when lesnar got 2.5M for ufc 200 everyone went crazy..
the facts is that right now, connor is barely in the top 5 in the divsion. i want to see him fight khabib and get knock the fuk out at 1st round. then the bubble will finally explode.Arsenal FC crew
