Few days ago I posted about a weird, doctor-stumping rash that my dad had been dealing with for a year or so, and we noticed that when he ate oysters it would feel a little better for a day or so afterward. I took the guess that it was the zinc in the oysters helping and we got him some zinc tabs this weekend. As of this morning, the rash is completely gone.
Turns out zinc deficiency can, in rare cases, manifest as a persistent rash. We're not sure what caused the deficiency - he's on a lot of medication so that's our guess because he otherwise eats well and exercises.
