Oh. Hello. I was given the opportunity to try out Gaspari's very precise Precision Protein in the Blueberry Muffin flavor. I like blueberry muffins.
The last Gaspari protein I used was the OG Myofusion and I used to love the hell out of it. Now that I think of it, it might have been the first protein powder I ever bought. Gaspari has been in the game for a long time, so it's no surprise that they would come out with an awesome and competitive product like this.
I used it in a few different ways - with oats, with plain green yogurt, and in a regular ass shake. All were sublime.
Here's a quick breakdown of some stuff:
Mixability - 8/10 - So I found that it mixed really nicely in the yogurt and oats, but took a little extra shaking to break it all up in a blender bottle (both with and without the blender a ball). Individually, I'd say it's 9/10 mixing in yogurt and oats, but 7/10 in a shake. Not bad at all, but compared to other proteins I've used recently (Tasty Whey, PES Select, and XF UP 2.0) it mixes just slightly under par for me in shakes, but it's certainly better than the XF when mixing in oats and yogurt.
When I mix it in oats there's this sweet rainbow effect that it gives off for some reason:
Smell - 10/10 - I don't usually care much about rating smells with any supplements, but this one gave off such a nice fragrant aroma as soon as I opened the tub that it had to be mentioned. If I could have a Precision Protein Air Freshener for my bathroom I would absolutely buy it.
Taste - 9.5/10 - For me, outside of macros, taste is the #1 deciding factor in a protein powder for me. I specifically wanted Blueberry Muffin because I'm a little sick of the standard chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter, etc. I definitely made a good choice. I've had iForce's Blueberry Muffin before and it was great and this actually tastes quite similar. It's not an overly sweet flavor. It's nice and light and is something I could drink several times a day and not get sick of. I can only guess how good the Neopolitan tastes, as that would have been my second choice and sounds like a nice deviation from standard flavors. But yeah, Blueberry Muffin is where it's at.
Overall - 9/10 - Precision Protein has 130cals/2g fat/25g protein, which is a pretty nice ratio. Comparing with other whey's I have on hand, PES Select (my current fav) has 110cals/1.5g fat/24g protein and Tasty Whey has 160cals(yikes)/4.5g fat(yikes)/20g protein(sort of yikes). Precision is definitely on the higher end of taste-to-profile proteins which makes it super easy to recommend. It's a bit more expensive than others @ 36.99/2lbs, but it's worth it for their unique flavors and solid profile. I only have 2 thumbs, but I'd give these three if it were possible.
I appreciate Gaspari's willingness to let me try this
