PICS and DISCUSSION of YOUR HOME GYM V2.0
No brain, no gain.
"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Dear gym62richard
I just wanted to thank you for unknowingly pointing me in the right direction for my home gym. I had originally contacted Pullums with the idea they would do all of it. I am sure they would have been fine but there were several things irking me, such as the fact the rack had 3 inch spacing, there was little room to get your feet under the bar due to the rear crossmember, I could find no info about the plates and bar they were recommending etc.
So I started looking elsewhere which basically meant googling and that lead me to page two hundred and something of this thread (well the original one) where you were advising a UK lifter and mentioned Absolute Performance and Matt @ Gym Revolution. I subsequently bought the Legend Power Station plus flooring with integrated platform from the former and the ATX Ram Bar plus ATX Bench from the latter! I also went down to see Matt to try out the Bar & Bench and you were right, he is a good guy!
So thanks mate and hopefully the picture comes out ok!
Cheers

Hi Rob, that's a great set up, really beautiful, the platform looks particularly interesting. Only too glad to help, if unwittingly LOL. I have two Legend racks, a Pro half rack and the full cage version of your rack, plus two Legend benches, Pro series bench and the 3 way, Simon and the guys at AP are always helpful. Over the years I've dealt with Matt many times, when he worked at Gymratz and since he started TGR, I have a couple of ATX bars, Ram bar and a Multi Grip bar, so I know the Ram bar well, I haven't used the ATX bench, but it looks great.
A couple of photos of my racks.
