This is why I like testing out products like the CAP+ bench, your opinion isn't really relative until you have both products in hand to smell the turd/rose. Same reason why I bought the Fitness Reality 810XLT, people were quick to call it garbage and I wanted to know for myself. The facts are that most Titan owners that have surfaced here claim their racks are quality and recommend them. Those who have never owned their racks call them 'overpriced', 'turds', and 'unsafe'.
There is a review out there from GarageGymReviews where he directly compares the quality of the T3 to the R3. It's from 2017 and the Titan finish seems like a solid representation of what we have seen here. Cliff notes: "I would like to end with what I truly believe: The Titan T-3 is the best value power rack available today, and nothing comes even close!". There are also the other reviews on the GHD which are VERY favorable, and the Titan Yoke which actually made it sound like the Titan was better in some ways (rare). FWIW

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Well, if anyone is still paying attention... I'm probably 99% decided on the Bolt Together 30" Rogue R3.
I won't lie, looks matter to me. Eff'd up powder coat or whatever would bug me and I'm not sure I'm willing to take the chance.
And compared to some of the other options, I can't ignore the amount of available accessories.
What sucks though is I have to pay shipping AND tax in Texas. Ugh.

There's a shinning review of the Titan X3 I've seen in the past on youtube. I can't remember who it was by and he got it for free. Funny thing is through the video, though it was a positive review and he recommends it, the video shows poor coatings, cheap uhmw, mismatched attachements not lining up right and style, and how he couldn't get it level and wobbled the rack around. Very weird review video.

Amazing how the reviews are positive when receiving the product for free (including the reviews ul speaks of above) I am surprised they are even getting merrit after that cff fiasco.
I think the video u speak of is Brandon Campbell's. I am pretty sure he said he was going to sell or donate those items after he plays with them for a month or so.. Actually the rack didn't look totally awful, but the weight storage tree was ridiculous

Yeah I think you're right. It was the attachment storage I was talking about not matching up. And he was like wobbling the rack around saying he couldn't get it level then screen cuts to him saying he definitely recommends the rack. I'm like wtf. I really didn't see anything raving about it. For budget rack I'd rather spend my money with Rep Fitness. Though I wish they offered a 2x3 frame rack.

That's a great choice! You're seeing why some go the other route and are willing to sacrifice some of the aesthetics for cost. That being said, get it ordered, assembled, take some pics and post 'em up! I know we all like looking at everyone's gyms. (Even the turds )
Also, when you assemble your rack, snug up the bolts, but leave them 'loose' until you get it all together. Most concrete floors are not flat or level (by design) Throw your bar on with a few #'s and then tighten everything up. This will help keep from having the same issue in the video mentioned above.
Take a look thru the home gym thread for ideas on setup, if you haven't already. I also used a 'room designer' on the Life Fitness website. They have a library of equipment, furn & fixtures and you can setup your actual room with windows/doors etc. Saves your back on a few moves. GOOD LUCK!Last edited by 70chevellegsp; 12-15-2017 at 04:00 AM.

Thank you very much for all that.
I have a gym build thread going a few threads down and already started playing with design.
It's a shed with plywood flooring, but still will follow your assembly advice.
Been through a bunch of threads and made it through some of the big gym show off thread. Lots of good stuff.

The Titan Butthurt is strong in this thread on both sides.
I think most of what gets me are guys who have never seen or used a Titan piece trashing the brand based on 0 hands on experience.
I've never used a lot of brands but I don't criticize those brands based soley on reputation alone. I've never argued that Titan ss in the same league as Rogue or Legend I have just said if you don't mind some cosmetic flaws then you are getting a good product for your money.
Personally I think there are only a handful of guys on here that could actually justify a need for a better rack than just the basic 2x2 big box racks. I know I don't have a need for a better rack but I chose the t3 because of the specs were the best in class for the price I paid. The few titan complaints we see these days are probably a very small subset based on the numbers of guys who are perfectly happy with their equipment.Best Lifts
