    Quad/knee pain while doing sumo deads

    I've started doing sumo deads after my regular conventional deads just for fun and to get more lifting in. I'm pretty new to sumos and been working on form and I think my set up is pretty good. I'm not going too heavy just repping 315 for practice.

    But my quads right in the tear drop gets pretty sore on both legs. I'm wondering if it because I'm new to sumo and my legs aren't used to the new movement? Anyone else have this issue when they started?

    no issue when i first started to do them to build up strength in weaker areas. i do sometimes notice knee pain during conventional if i have my stance a little wider and my arm pushes my knee in a bit, are your knees/shins staying vertical
    best lifts at 180lb bodyweight
    best= 370 squat goal= 405
    best= 260 bench goal= 315
    best= 445 deadlift goal= 505

    Shins are vertical. Knees are stacked over ankle. I make sure they are vertical when I set up
