Spread the floor (toes) deadlift cue?

What's the deal with this cue? Is it one anyone here uses to great success?

I was playing around last night with hook grip. I realised spreading the floor with toes might be a good idea with this grip. I was more screwing/planting the feet into the ground with mixed grip. I feel like the spread the toes cue might help turn the glutes and hamstrings on more too.

I pull conventional. You have to spread the floor with sumo in experience. But I think this cue could work on conventional?

Anyone got experience with this cue on deadlifts? I'm not sure about it on squat. Might work well with decent squat shoes. I prefer screw/anchor to floor cue with flat shoes. I might try it with squat shoes too.

    Thanks

its a que for activation of certain muscle groups.
it works well for some people to get them to get the glutes and outside hips going

I do put weight mostly to heels, but spreading toes seems to be more effective (as well)

Think you are right and more hamstring activation too and better position of lower back and thoracic spine

You want to do this for deadlift and squat, thinking of it like gripping the floor with your big toe , pinky, and heel and trying to spread the floor apart.
    I'm 25 , not 47 smh.

Best cue I heard for deadlift is rather than focus on pulling the bar, focus on pushing the floor away... worked for me anyways

Yes as Black label said screwing the feet outward or consciously trying to twist them without actually moving them activates glutes and hamstring to help your conventional pull.
It may not work for everyone and you have to get it down just right.
It may be something to experiment with.
