The concept is lazy. It's a "They kidnapped your son now go save him!" story. How lame is that? It's lazy, which makes it perfect for millennials and zoomers. It's the perfect Lebron-era film. No effort put into it.

The original isn't a masterpiece (obviously), but it at least had a far better set up.
