$47 shipped everyday at Titan - cheaper when on sale. May not be as nice and refined as that $219 bar on eBay - but for less than $50 I won't complain.

Knurling kind of defeats the purpose of an axle.
You can buy a 7ft piece of cold rolled 1018 in 1-15/16" for about $130. Use a pair of shaft collars for the inside collars and you will have a solid axle weighing ~80 lbs for around $150.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #53 ▪█─────█▪

I must confess.... I was feeling left out of all the Black Friday shopping talk.... and I needed a present to open for myself.
A lot of guys say they use fat bars for presses too, so I figure I’ll give it a try on bench and overhead presses. I love my Apollon axle, so I can’t see any reason to not have another bar. And honestly.... my gun rack looks a little empty with only three bars on it.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #4 []---[]

The one guy said those two bars are not in the same league? Meaning the titan and the one the op posted? Were you joking? They are the exact same thing - schedule 80 pipe that costs maybe 10 bucks. Titan did a great job of powdering it and welding collars on. I own one I paid 37 bucks for it. That 219 one is the exact same thing with knurling that my athletic tape does the same job for 30 cents. How could you possibly compare that to a cheap barbell vs a good barbell and the only one who calls out the ridiculousness of that is red tombro?

Well after reading this thread I did some incline work with my 2.5" bar. Only time I've had it off the rack in the past couple of years is moving from one house to another. Felt good; I think I'll use it a bit more now. The ends of it are turned to 2.0" and neither my Iron Grip or York plates will fit it. Fortunately the Billards slide on loose. I should take it someplace to see if they can turn them down a bit.

Yea I’m crazy.... actually I’m an expert and right. I know more about fat bars than the last two people who just laughed at me who’s names I don’t care enough about to look up will forget in two lifetimes. Yes actually a fat bar when not solid steel like the one Donnie will soon make for rogue and price quite reasonably from what he told me, it’s just schedule piping, the schedule 40 which most companies make will weigh in at 19 and the 80 will weigh in at 25. Now most companies like elite and rogue use the 40 which is fine but it’s nice that titan used the 80 albeit Chinese steel still weighs 26.
Doesn’t flake and I don’t doubt that the op bar isn’t powder and it is knurled but my point is it’s unnecessary with a fat bar. Those are things you pay for in a good bar. A fat bar should not be knurled at all. I’ll get the op bar is schedule 40 and the seller slapped the knurl on it and sells it five times titan. It’s like putting a fancy fence anddroveway on a crack house who cares it’s still crap. Save your money for a real bar that deserves the high price tag. Also I fill my titan with shot and it brings it up to 45 lbs. I’m crazy though. And a troll

Fortunately, I’ll have both knurled and smooth fat bars, since I also have the ironmind Apollon axle..... which is also 2” tube turned down to 1.95 on the sleeves.
But I have to admit, keyboards solid axle is pretty cool too.Last edited by rpark; 11-30-2017 at 03:50 AM.
