Broke into it yesterday after I get to compound lifting done.

There was a pair of Sledgehammer inside the package, always good to get a feel for what the flavoring and profiles companies are going for these days. I like this formula a lot because gainers these days are very predictable, it's ok on a dirty bulk but on a cut it makes it harder to get down to the starting weight and also a much healthier alternative overall for roughly the same cost, I'd say it's a huge win.
    \
Thanks again to eyeguy and Muscleology for sending it out. Ill get my first impression and starting weight.

Weighed myself on a cold fast, so no water or meals when I started my day.

    11/27

Been having a very lax approach to my overall bulk diet, I need to clean it up but regardless I've added like 9 pounds in about 2 months. Went from strictly maintaining to many days having cheat meals, sweets, candy , you name it. But I've largely now managed my hunger more and it's more clean carbs and cals.

Maintaining at over 100g carbs a day, Im gonna say its over 3x from the cut but probably higher overall. My protein is like .75x P/BW high carbs really work for me.

What the math breakdown comes to:

    1 scoop = 413 calories/20protein/80 carbs

I did 5 sets of deads 2 warmup 10 reps, then some DB rows usually about 4-5 sets, about 15 mins of abs and a set of pullups.

Initial impressions - Mixing wasnt that great, when I saw how long the scoop was I thought it would be hard to mix. It was a definite struggle. I mean 800 calories in waterpowder is hard in itself and the couple of ounces water I usually add to all my protein did kind of help but again I dont think I will use 2 scoops again per shaker. I may do 1 shake and then follow it with another but not 2 in the same bottle etc. it wasnt bad but at the end there was a huge clump at the bottom. Flavoring is ok but more on the sweet side.

Haha nah, when I was at the peak of my cut I was far below that, first time I actually realized the work it takes you know? Now Im all about the occasional donut or two and not minding my carbs a whole lot. Some of these days feel like buffet feeding frenzies but at home.

How was the holidays for you and the fam, you done with shopping or hitting it hard still? I dont visit any malls now lol

Two updates because I did not post yesterday and today...

Yesterday I cracked my second sample of Sledgehammer, damn this stuff tastes pretty good! 250 mg caffeine doesnt mess with my state, I still get all the benefits but I dont feel like digging my feet too much. Kinda underdosed on the pumps but the nootropic and focusing ingredients are pretty good. I had like 15 tabs on my browser and I was keyed on but not anxious like other pre's and then after 30 mins I was on my way to lifting.

I also got their BCAA Super8, which sounds familiar in name. Flavoring was good as well no complaints not foamy at all. Has EAAs, glutamine and some agmatine in there. The electrolyte blend is very comprehensive so no doubt itll be great on a cut.

Tuesday: 5 sets db presses, 4 sets db flyes, 1 set weighted pushup and ab circuit (figure 8s, elbow crunches, plank) oblique cable pushdowns (3 sets) I normally do like 2 but my weight and carbload making everything feel smoother.

Wednesday: Time for squats and only had half sandwich and some peanuts about 2 hours before lifting, roughly 50g carbs of so. Did shoulder raises, plate raises, DB oblique leans and a 15 min ab circuit. Still at 1 min planks, cant catch my breath on those.

Second impressions I used 1 scoop, still kinda sweet. MassOlogy is still very potent, I wouldnt recommend going over that if you want to mix this and drink asap. Kinda goopy, does have natural flavoring, with a mixture of cake batter and artificial flavoring, not underflavored but just sweeter than I go for. 400+ cals PER SCOOP is no joke.

    Thanksgiving was awesome.
Feast for 30+ people and we didn’t host this time - no cleanup work for 2 days, so quite happy with that

Bought quite a few tubs of supps on Black Friday, here and elsewhere. I think I’m good for 2018.

Also started buying some Christmas presents. Usually buy them on the River. Six of us in here, so yeah...

Yup. I’m getting to the bottom of my wallet

Empty wallet = happy faces lol, giving is good man it really is but hey its just what it is. I think the extra time on unique but useful products is much better than cookie cutter products imho. My fam wanted another TV I was like...already have one why get another lol.

Absolutely, like all gainers it's always going to be a balance but decent gainer profile and just about finding the right dose. I personally like to use several shakes a day vs using a massive shake (2-4 scoops) where I cant really move or lift for a few hours, that's not fun at all but 1 scoop is preferrable.

    Update coming soon.

Few updates from last few days, over the week was my brother's birthday I had a couple slices of cake. Officially done with Thanksgiving leftovers and what not, didnt make any cornbread but been having more refined carbs.

I did chest back to back days, sticking with same amount of calories. Decent back day, noticing my face pulls at the 3 bands strength is really smooth, my control for barbell rows is going better. I had an injury 3 months ago and my left wrist is still recovering so I havent tried weighted pullups or anything, taking it easy on that.

As far as Mass-Ology, still going with 1 scoop of the gainer, I tried to add a scoop of ice cream and blended it up, the end result was a goopy jelly type consistency, very weird it reminded me of cake batter. It wasnt heavy thick when I drank it but still very hard to mix up, prob wont use a blender anymore because itll add too much air and make it like that.

Yesterday I stirred with a straw and was pretty good, kinda clumpy and filling. I will weigh myself tomorrow on Monday on a flat stomach to see how much I've gained, probly will weigh every monday or so.

    BIG SCOOP = 400+ cals

clumpy = delicious morsels here n there, (probably like 50 cals per clump? IDK)

Was able to get up to goin, totally forgot to weigh myself on an empty will do it tomorrow. Im beginning to move protein up and take carbs lower, with a 1.5 scoop shake taking most of the carb total today.

One thing I notice with protein that has creatine is the thicker consistency, highly suggest adding water. We will see what I weigh tomorrow I had 4 of these tuna rice cake bites so good, I also like the tostada version which has higher fat content. Dropped a couple protein bars and cottage cheese.

My workout went really well, on the db press twists. Dips not botherin my wrists too much, very good sign of what I might be doing maybe just the colder climate numbs the joints that much more (likely). ...and my stomach isnt sticking out of my shirt yet lol, so the lean gains are coming specially next few weeks when I tweak it even more and still get my cals in.

Okay Im at 163.8 after my pre workout and a handful of peanuts but still right at 163 so we will bump total weight gained at +1 after about a week of starting and that's very lean weight. Right now Im going with 1 shake a day, it puts the overall at another 400 cals, thats not bad at all.

Did about 10 sets squats at 145, not at high on the reps after warming up, very comfortable lasting about 20 mins with rest. 6 sets military press on low rest. Shoulder shrugs, oblique db leans, band oblique leans on 2 strength, finished with pullups, stationary, Cable = single tri extensions, a set of tri pulldowns. Very cool day but I was sweating a ton today.

Had these tuna tostadas with a slice of havarti cheese and egg and 4 tacos after work
    carbs: pumpkin and sweet potato

Been managing my calories and cutting refined carbs drastically, body heat is far better too which I am sure is due to the much superior burn out and fat conversion from the much better sources. Been hammering out the tuna tostadas and Mass-Ology shakes, roughly a shake a day. Im doing the fasted workout thing, and a handful of peanuts with ginger+Apple cider vinegar mix spread out throughout the day (also major burn and body heat add's).

My lifts have all gone up thanks to just not feeling as bad on my wrist and almost completely healing..I may throw in weighted pullups again and revert to more shoulder pressing midweek.

I havent done any cardio whatsoever since Thanksgiving morning so it's been a bit, however I feel like mirror is being kind to me. I still got like over half a tub left.

May do some recipes or Mass-Ology Muffins pretty soon, I just have to clean out the fridge some more. Hoping they add another pound this Mon-Tue we will see, Im stuffing myself but not with any fatty meals, so bumping the protein.

A lot of food for thought also burns calories on a bulk

Saturday I went to to a friends function mid evening but no meals there. About 10 at night I was doing my lifting. Worked on my shoulders and traps no barbell work today. Went smoothly for the most part but my left trap was slightly strained and upper neck area some. Cable side leans went real well, sucks I cant see the form with a sheet of fat covering my ab-area for now. I feel more fuller overall.

It was a volume workload that I finished at 12AM because I finished it with about 25mins of treadmil mostlly on 5 incline. I havent lost any conditioning and my stamina is really there still so I sweated a ton even though it was in the mid 50s outside. Feels great to get after it.

Im doing 1 shake post workout and that has really helped me keep calories up, I can tell you that downing a ton of tuna salad and pumpkin soup is not as easy as it sounds after the 3rd plate. Havent taken a day off but dont feel I needed to we'll see what today holds.

I did a ton of squats in the AM today, so I was definitely winded (like 12 sets). I wasnt sore from the cardio yesterday and I like cardio on squat day too, so I did another 10 mins. Probably going to be a massive sore phase next couple days. Just to keep the heart healthy and to my benchmark averages and stay lean/burn some fat too.

Part two of the session I had miitary shoulder presses, pushups and pullups as well. Ended with a massive 25 min ab circuit today and added 1 set and 10 reps to the cable oblique leans, huge burn on the concentricals.

Dietwise, Ive really cut 99% of refined carbo's and keeping it at 1 BIG meal and a medium meal a day.

PRE- pumpkin soup, handfuls of peanuts
POST - 6 tuna tostadas, 1 Mass Ology shake, matcha tea

WEIGHT : I did not check it today, strength going up still.

    Night Dec 11

    Good morning everyone.

No huge doms from the squat volume done day before last night, not as I anticipated I would but I had deadlifts slated for last evening. Started with DL's same range super controlled. *(Added a dozen paused reps with moderate weight to develop the rectos and thorasic at the upper abdomen.) Pausing at the middle of the dead for like 10 secs... BURN baby burn.

Next up I worked the back with T Bar rows went smoothly and did a couple sets of my max, much improved in my form and confidence. Mil presses behind the back standing up and a lengthy ab circuit.

To finish off I did 6 sets of face pulls and oblique leans with DBs at my max.

So since starting the log off, I've drastically cut cheat meals, keep my carbs moderate to high pre or post workout, low carbs/higher protein before bed (slow digesting protein etc). I dont think Im tacking on slack weight, I might see slightly under 1 lb after I check later, still strength going up week + week is great. Dietwise, not planning on changing anything, same meals as yesterday. Keep the vit D3 another 100% of my normal dose just because the cool climate and staying as healthy.

*Last few years I have always gotten a cold, so being in the clear this winter is great. I used to not really get sick until the last 5-6 years straight I did.

    Be back on tomorrow guys.

Hit heavy volume triceps, I wasnt super amped but holding on to 161 lb. Thats probably 3 lbs off water weight. Ive cut like 150g carbs out and generally is a lean bulk and recomp.

Took a MassOlogy shake with spinach..not bad at all. Way to get greens blended in my shake. Very happy with my strength, do all major splits 2 a week. Maybe I can add 1 pound next week well see, Im glad Im not blowing up like a balloon forsure.

Nothing canned going in this guy's body, except tuna lol. Get the prewashed baby spinach bags and just add a handful to your blender, good for when you have cheat meals that dont have many greens on them. Cooked spinach for your potaters' and uncooked raw for your shakes.

For the very adventurous times, I used to add a drip of coffeemate caramel, a bit of oats and some peanuts, it tastes like the salted caramel shakes 5 Guys makes. Let me know if you try any of this stuff or what youre using.

Im about half or slightly under that, and about a heaping scoop. Steady maintenance weight right now and cleaner carbs that dont make me feel way too full.

    December 15

Squat night (overnight), did about 10 sets a few of them were about 15 and slipped sets of pushups. It was super cold but I barely even felt it from the burn and pump. It did not take very long to get amped up and my pushup strength was not rough on my shoulders. chest was sore from the chest day I had day before, 3 sets of 25-30 reps.

After about 30 minutes I started feeling the strain from the volume. But my rest times are shorter and I didnt run out of breath easy. Next I went to some barbell rows, did about 6 sets of 14 with the 70lbs so it was light but getting the back pump. After I did dumbbell 45 degree lat raises, my shoulders were super pumped, no neck strain and went up smooth, been addind about 3 reps every set from my usual on those. Finished off with an ab circuit which went about 15 minutes.

Diet - Had some sweets and refined carbs that got me going. Huge egg omellete and 2 MASS Shakes with a tablespoon of raw chocolate.

Got up at the crack of the morning, been getting up later and later these days. Carbs for this werent that high but I managed to outdo myself on everything, I did have my sweet potatoes and PRE but felt like I had a lot in the tank, also just being chilly as hell I wanted to build that burn and get that "hot sweat" with the chilly air effect.

I began re-doing weighted pullups today, I had a shoulder press accident that messed my left wrist badly back in late September I believe.
I've felt better before then, however I never felt confident in my bi's and weighted pullups since then, so I basically just avoided those two. Well I did 4 sets with a 10pound plate, pullups were fairly easy and very fluid. Mixed some pushups too. Ab circuit was some isometric hip twists at the top, exercise I made where I twist my hip at the top of the knee-high raise, then switch to the other side in a paused rep rep scheme at the top). Basically left to right-knee high raises- let's call that exercise that... 20 reps of those, a set of planks and high volume crunches, Russian twists etc.

My PR move was the oblique cable crunches with 3 band strength. I started them when I got the 3-cable combo back in the summer and been doing the kneeled ab stuff but the oblique leans have taken a lot of time to build to the 3rd strength...15 reps per side on the first try.

Diet - Way under my calories today, I slammed 2 Mass-Ology shakes back to back after my workout so I was way off target but this will actually slingshot my metabolism right back once I bump everything tomorrow.

    Thought of the day

Not a very long session but I felt it was productive and I wanted to gauge my progress. Normally gotta crank 2 warmup sets of flyes to warm up, specially cause it's so cold but I just went all out. I was carbed out too.

Alright next up I hit up bent over isometric DB lat raises for average of about 8 reps and another ab circuit. Did DB pullovers on my max, bumped that to +7 reps. Increased my cable oblique leans by +5 reps which is the highest Ive done, also 20 db leans + which is a PR and I was winded but got a great burn out.

Quick jog on treadmill of about 5 mins or so to finish it off. Sticking to 2 small cardio sessions to bump my metabolism a bit.

Diet - Holding on to the lean gains going off from the mirror, Ill check what the weight is on Tuesday morning. I've lost a couple pounds water weight and we're gonna say 1 pound of solid fat. Essentially maintaining a very healthy weight, prob about 12% BF though.

Bumping all protein and carbs next week and I'll prob add 1.5 lbs from that. I like to see what I see off a mirror and go from there. Ive taken liberties so it's been about 35% cheat to 65% clean.

Alright I measured my weight at 165 which means a 4lb gain, after I cut a bit of water weight and tapered upwards, most of it has been been relatively lean mass and not as much fat. We'll see where this fluctuates in the next 2 days to see how stable this really is vs water weight.

I had one of those volume tricep days to start, hit various volume PR's for skullcrushers. Did about 6 sets of weighted pushups and about 3 decline pushups, went smooth and usually my left shoulder joint creaks but feeling much smoother.

Day before I had planned to do a pullup hypertrophy day but didnt, so I did about 10 sets of pullups and got up about 4 reps per set. Helping that I finally added a plate last time so I expected my calisthenic game to be better and it was. I did several sets of isolated tricep pushdowns @max 3 cable strength on the resistance bands. Finished with a 15 minute ab circuit. Very solid training session overall and I attribute this to the resistance tapping into angles that I didnt do before.

Diet - Higher carbs (cereal, sweet potato, a shake of Mass Ology). Kinda lax on the sweets too today.

I was very surprised at my gains this week, 161ish to 165ish on empty. Gonna see how this goes this week. Cleaner carbs and having more intense sessions are helping too. My fats are sources are also varied and def a part of the equation.
