Trying to decide if I need/want another power bar. I already have Rogue's Ohio Power Bar, trying to make a decision if I really need another bar at this time. If I did decide to purchase a new bar, it would be between the Kabuki Power Bar and Eleiko's Sport Training Bar. Anyone have any input or opinions on which would be the better way to go? I can get both right now for right about the same price, under 500 dollars, free shipping. Or would it be better to wait and get a different type of bar in the future? I recently purchased a Kabuki Duffalo Bar and a Rogue TB-2 Trap Bar. Any opinions?

Would you sell the OPB if you got a new PB? If not, would you ever need two (train with someone else, different needs for a Kabuki which is comparable specs).
I'd wait unless there's a need for two PBs. The only reasons I can think there would be a need is having one in the rack and one out, multiple lifters working out at once or unhappy with something about the OPB
Note: Telling someone not to buy another bar may get me booted from this crazy island but it doesn't make a ton of sense to me, others will likely disgaree.{5'7" and under #1}

What's your goals in training?
They are made for two different styles of lifts. The Kabuki is a power bar designed for squats, bench, deadlifts, and general purpose use. It's 29mm will have little whip which is good when walking out heavy weights on the squat. It's a bushing bar so spin is going to ve reduced which is fine and prefered so the bar moves less in the hands or on the back. It's knurl marking are standard for powerlifting.
The eleiko is a needle bearing which will have amazing spin. Great for quicklifts like the snatch or clean to quickly get under the bar. The bar is most likely 28mm so will have more whip which helps the pull. Its knurl markings will be IWF standards.
Eleiko's performance powerlifting bar is more in line with the Kabuki Power bar.Last edited by Jason2459; 11-27-2017 at 07:47 AM.

Both are phenomenal. Buy both.
Which will you use more? I often use 3 bars at one time (one in rack for bench press, one outside rack for squats, another on the side for rows), so it's awesome to have multiple bars. But if you have a OPB (power bar) & a Duffalo (power bar), I would lean towards the Eleiko for something different. It's a GREAT price right now. FWIW, I prefer doing front squats with a 28mm Oly bar.Last edited by thejosef; 11-27-2017 at 09:04 AM.

I think this really depends on your goals. If you are planning to compete in powerlifting, then maybe it makes sense to get the Kabuki bar (unless your fed uses the OPB in competition).
If you are just looking to build strength, it's hard to imagine needing a "better" bar than your OPB unless you are planning to load up two bars simultaneously for supersets or whatever.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]

The bars are not really comparable, I do like to use a true 28mm weightlifting bar for most lifts outside the rack, but for bench and squat I prefer the feel of a 29mm+ power bar.
The Eleiko bar is being replaced by a new performance bar, if I were looking for an all round weightlifting bar, at the current discounted price, I'd be grabbing the Eleiko STB before the stock runs out.

I'm in the same boat as cwcmac. Unless you compete & need a specific bar for meet conditions, you end up in the situation of having multiple copies and most not getting used (wasted funds).
I have an Ivanko OBX-20kg and the only reason I have a power bar on my short list is that it's impossible for me to low bar squat (the knurl is no where near aggressive enough). If the knurling was closer to Kabuki's/Rogues, I wouldn't even consider an "upgrade."
Unless there's a good reason to have both (I can list a few if you're interested), I'd either keep the Rogue or upgrade, but not keep both. Those funds can be spent better elsewhere.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59
