I'm asking him to defend/explain his position.
Me too!
I think women who truly love lifting are never about sculpting just one body part. That's the insta sloot culture not the rest of us. I am all about being well proportioned, for both men and women.🎥

SRS? I get out of bed Monday morning looking forward to the gym (I take weekends off). In the shower I'm thinking of the numbers and reps I want to hit, on my drive to work I'm recalling past PR's. Get to work and look at PR's and swole AF builds on IG and charge into the gym at lunchtime like a bull.
If you don't love lifting, do something you love, and get out of my rack, I've got work to do.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

What is there to defend or explain? He gave props to females that work hard on their physiques. It's really very clear to me.
Just how am I an anomaly? Because I absolutely love lifting? Because I love the way it makes me feel and the way it makes me look? I really don't feel like that is so off the wall.~ In a world where you can be anything, be kind ~

Because you have a single-minded perspective. Mine is more broad which is why I asked for clarity.

I've asked as dozen guys on workout including roommates in the past and only one came ONCE. I only speak on things I've actually tried -- unless otherwise specified.
BTW, still waiting for his answer.🎥

Repped
I'm not that obsessed but I really do enjoy the ritual involved in hitting the gym, the ability to be focused on only me with limited interruptions, the challenge and even the occasional DOMs
Can't stand group classes, not big on cardio so do it under sufferance but happy to move weight
I find it off that anyone would do this without loving it, beyond the noob wannaquit

Das it mane. Currently bodybuilding but nowadays I'm getting more hyped seeing my lift numbers go up and hitting PRs. I get that feeling like when kids get that new toy they always wanted but I make sure to keep calm and collected and no go full potato in the gym. Go home and get hype.

Well, I hope he comes back and explains for you then.
I guess I'm taking that as a compliment. You are correct. It is rare to find someone who will actually commit to lifting. I consider myself fortunate that I love it so much. I do know people who don't love it, but do it because they know it's good for them.~ In a world where you can be anything, be kind ~

That's because people train when they are ready for it, not when you are ready for it. Telling someone to come to the gym with you unless they already go is an exercise in futility. It implies absolutely nothing and is moot point with regards to the personal motivations of society at large.

I think anyone can do whatever they want in the gym since they're paying the membership. If they want to strut around in lululemon and stretch, I couldn't care less as long as they're not doing that in a squat rack. I never pay attention to what others do in the gym, unless they do something impressive.
And agree with Kim that you can do pull-ups only if you do them. I like doing them so I can do them but I can't squat for chit. A toddler can squat more than me, I have horrible sciatica and it's not good at all. I think my front squat is getting pretty good, though. I have nice bruised shoulders which is better than limping after squats.

This, if they're not in the squat rack or affecting my or anyone else's workout - I don't care. The other day, I had a 80 lb. girl benching an empty bar for sets for over 15-20 minutes in the only other free cage. That's one of the few times I've actually got pissed in the gym (didn't say anything of course cause everyone starts as a noob).
Also: Front squats are an assistance exercise. Back squats pls.*Misc Surgeon*--*Admin neg survivor*

Sigh, it's complicated. I've already had the X-rays and done the PT. I am maintaining the pain. It doesn't really matter because I have sciatica even if I don't lift. When I was working overtime and sitting on a computer ten hours a day, it was worse than ever. Back squats are just hard and DL's. I do them anyway. However, front squats and goblets are easier for me to do.

Yeah, definately. I've already noticed that if I put more pressure on my heel, I don't feel the pain as much. I need to post a video soon, I'm just so lazy to do that.
Puhleesee..trinnie squats that and she's half my size! I bench more than her though and can do pull-ups, not that I have any upper body strength, either. I just started this strength training program and I am getting stronger.

I've always wondered what Melis squats. She's either 4'11 or has some serious squats cause her quads are hyoooge.*Misc Surgeon*--*Admin neg survivor*
