Keto isn't any better than a normal calorie deficit. You don't need books. Read the stickies.

While you certainly don't "need" books, i do find that for some people they help with motivation. IF you find good books, which is more difficult to find.

No, it's not that we 'think' there is no benefit. There is no benefit, none that has ever been proven (in regards to fat loss).

If you're overweight and insulin resistant keto can be interesting. If not I'd recommend a diet that includes carbs.

I'd never do anything that restricts carbs since that is your bodies main source of energy. Just seems crazy to me

If you are diabetic or pre-diabetic then it's a conversation to have with a specialist. If you are not one of those two things then outside of personal preference keto isn't going to do anything magical vs a traditional diet.

listening to rogans show isnt necessarily about listening to him, it is about listening to the awesome guests he has on

and as far as him being ignorant.... would bet he knows more about a wide range of topics than the dude who is saying that just based on the exposure he has had

Keto is generally safe but it is not for all. Much better to consult first with a Diet Doctor.

No he refuses to get an evidence based practitioner and scientist like Alan Aragon but he will invite a journalist with a low carb foundation.

And that's not the only example, he invites a ton of quacks.

This. Just check out his latest guest on later today: http://www.biohackerslab.com/ep19-dr-shawn-baker/. This guy advocates a "carnivorous" all-meat "zero carb" diet without any fruits or vegetables. Even fuking Erik's podcast is actually way more informative and thought-provoking...and he's a 20-something miscer with no guests or sources beyond him using wikipedia as he's talking off the top of his head. Hell, he doesn't even need Aragon, Joe should just invite Erik on. Srs. That being said, Rogan has his moments of comedy, and maybe 1 out of 100 guests are honestly enlightening and 100% worthy of a full listen (Jordan Peterson, Neil Tyson, etc.)

Brad Schrodinger recently did an interview and said that carbs aid anabolism. He challenged the interviewer/audience to show a study where ketogenic diets outperformed ones with more carbs.

How many RE studies are there that compared a carb based diet with keto after proper adaptation and then measured muscle growth?

I'm only aware of one study, the one by Wilson, which may contain frauded data according to rumors.

Afaik all the other studies didn't have proper adaptation and/or did not measure actual muscle growth.
