I've done pretty well since the 1st. Had to drift off the diet last night. I went out to dinner with the gfs family and they ordered us appetizers and ate some nachos and onion rings. Ordered a steak and broc**** for the entree. Feelsbadman, today because I really wanted to go a full 31 days of eating clean even if it was only a small portion. Guess I gotta hit the gym harder today.
Hope everyone else is still going strong.
Edit: why is the word broc C0li star'd out

I'm having issues...
I make some bad choices on purpose: Like having ice cream Saturday night.
I make some bad choices without thinking about it: Like getting fried fish for dinner rather than something better.
But the worst is that I still make fat guy choices: Lunch Friday I was trying to decide between chips and cookies (a 200 calorie difference). I was bouncing back and forth until I got to the register. That's when I ordered the chips and added 3 cookies (went from 200 or 400 calories to 200 plus 600 calories).9/26/17: 327.0 lbs

Ha, yep, that shizz will get you. All I'll say is why? Why go from "chips or cookies" to "chips and cookies (x3)"? and why 3? I'm assuming 1 cookie was say $0.50 where 3 were $1 or something similar? That's just greed.
Come on man, help yourself here. Dust yourself down, get back on the horse, and next time, just try to have a little more self control. That's all it takes bro. You can do it"Through Calorie-counting all things are possible" : Phil 19:26

Dont let that bother you just learn from it and remember what you do as a majority matters and that your setting new healthy habits to live by. (head up brother) Investing in your health now sets you up nicely as you get older too.
ps...when you genuinely want treats and can fit them in pick one and save the second for another day. But youll find if you expand your knowledge of foods to prepare youll have healthy variety and wont want those cookies and chips. Also im sure you can find healthy recipes for nachos that would allow you those chips.
Heres one....id suggest real chicken though I think that stuff in his recipe is processed.

Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

That's why I called it "fat guy choices".
I didn't plan on doing it, I was pressed to choose because I had made it up to the register and my instincts took over. I know that my instincts will change with time. I'm doing pretty good about making the right decisions. It's just times like this one are frustrating.
I am a food addict. I can relate with drug addicts and alcoholics way too often. It's just continuing to take it day by day, pound by pound, and choice by choice.
I still am aiming for 299 by Friday 1/26/189/26/17: 327.0 lbs

Hey on a different note I have an audio system in my apartment im putting together and I have the amps but needed a preamp to control it so I ordered a passive one yesterday off ebay and then realized I need a cd player.
Well today before the gym I was like hey I can use my bluray player since it has rca outs. Then when I got home from the gym I hooked it up to my (get by) system and whalla it worked. So now no need for a cd player for the system. Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. you should stay. Perhaps you just didn't get a feel for the site before posting. I'm not sure what happened but this place is kick ass.
Anyway, I had a great weekend. I squat 175x3 for a set Saturday and benched 95 x3 on Sunday without a spotter! yay me! and Most of all I stuck to my meal plan.
I'm so stoked I'm getting a belt from Best Belts and its gonna be so pretty!!!
finding little ways to keep motivated during the cold months helps a whole lot.

This is probably biggest reason I was fat. Even ordering online from pizza hut or something. Couldn't decide between pizza, wings, pasta, ahh yolo order one of each... End up order 3 large pizzas, 40 wings, a family size pasta, breadsticks, and dessert cookie pizza thing. Mindlessly snack and eat on it over next 2 days. Enough calories for 2 weeks...
My strategy now, which seems to be working for me, is to 100% eliminate junk food. No choice what so ever. No sugar, no snacks, no cheat days. It's boring, but I felt after going a few weeks without these things, the cravings kind of disappeared. I'm being 100% strict, I know myself. I know if I give myself one little get out of jail free pass, it's a slippery slope from there and it becomes easier to do it again. The weight of never messing up on my diet and never missing a workout for over 3 months in a row now is what really motivates me now. If I want to post again and say I've never messed up on my diet or missed a workout for over FOUR months, it's a lot easier to keep current streak going than screw up 1 day and have to start over.Last edited by Kalagaraz; 12-04-2017 at 08:32 PM.

Unfortunately, that is how I have gotten to where I am now. I always felt if I went 100% I would be successful. I am but its a diet and not a lifestyle this way. I would be great for 3-6 months, feel great, enjoy the gym, but then a small setback would send me spiraling. I have found it is easier to have setbacks and learn how to move forward rather than sulk over my bad choices. Only after you learn how to make a commitment and an entire lifestyle change, will you truly learn how to live a healthier life. I cheated yesterday at work- had 4 pieces of pizza my crew bought, normally I would beat myself up and say I ruined the entire week of dieting. I have now learned that a cheat meal is part of choices and life. Accept, adapt and overcome.

When I started my weight loss journey I had to go 100% strict otherwise I would fail like many times in the past. Only after about six months did I start to make it a lifestyle instead of a diet. I now indulge in cheat meals here and there along with junk snacks without beating myself up but I have to watch myself carefully. Mindless choices can lead to a big downfall for me.

Same here. I went from, couch potato, waking up at 7 am, drinking a fifth of Bacardi in a weekend alone, eating a whole pizza over the course of 24 hours and gym whats that?
To I wake up at 3:45 6 days a week and go o the gym, I eat food that fuels me, No cheats for 6 months straight, I don't drink calories, I now have maybe 5 drinks per year.
Fitness saved my life I was on the road to becoming an alcoholic.
People say small steps, little changes at a time.
Cool if that works for you. It doesn't work for me. If I'm in I'm all in everytime 100%
I dove in head first and 5 years later I'm still going strong. I don't "eat clean" anymore. I have a flexible diet.

The scale says im down 1 pound but honestly I dont see how since I wasnt being super strict this week. I ate a daves double for the day. (810 calories) I also got an hour of cardio in so that should be about a 1240 calorie deficit today.

I had one of the worst workouts of the year today. I felt fine going into the gym, but as soon as I started lifting I just noticed that my muscles feel really weak and tired. Lifting just felt like torture and I just wanted to quit. I ended up using lower weights than I planned and did less sets. Bad workout is better than no workout I guess.

Starting to notice some definition in my abs, my face looks much more chizzled and I got a nice vein going through my arm. Eating 1900 calories a day FREAKING SUCKS, but once you start seeing the fruits of your efforts it feels better than any food and it becomes so addicting to keep making progress!
I don't have much to look forward to in life anymore and I just want to get as big and shredded as I can!
Wish I could show you guys this vein, it looks so sick when I look at it, but sadly when I take a picture it's not noticeable on camera lol
I like the look of being so lean that you can see all the veins connecting into the muscles like a circuit board lol

That's exactly what happens to me when i return to workout after 1 week break. I'm not trying to imply that you did so, but i relate to feel a total lack of energy.
BTW i workout on a fasted state during mornings like 90% of the time, if no i do it many hours post meal on evenings. Food makes me dizzy, i've considered getting some amino acids or maybe just preworkout whey to spare my lbm, but all the contradictions from different sources make me doubt about the effectiveness of it... so i just keep working 100% fasted till further research on the subject.Lifting since Jan 2018

Scale was friendly this morning- which is always good. I am working nights this week, so was expecting no gains due to the schedule change. Haven't been to the gym this week, but it happens. Diet has been good. Ideally would have better results with the gym, but work hours do happen- in fact 16 hours three this week lol

I've never avoided salt to begin with so it never affects my weigh ins lol. Glad I don't worry about that. Probably not good for me, but I eat healthy other than salt lol. I salt the **** out of everything. If eating more and more salt makes you hold more and more water, I could probably drop 20 pounds if I cut my salt out lol.
