God it's been rough, i need to eat 1900 cals a day now or i don't lose any weight, and 1900 cals feels like nothing to me I envy under-eaters Hopefully I'll get used to it if I keep at it!

I did a workout today and am done eating at 1500 calories today so some progress.
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 30 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

This week i started working out again after leaving it for like 2 weeks, didn't gave out on proper nutrition though.

1 day ago i had leg day and 2 days before that it was chest day... today was back day... but man, i couldn't get pass my initial warm up, i just felt so fricking tired that i had to leave, i'm not so worried since that's usually how i feel after not training regularly, but still I'm kinda frustrated and angry with myself, i hope to not give up again about training on a regular basis.

Maybe is time for me to log my progress.

    I'm in.

    Starting weight: 152.2 Lbs.
    Goal Weight: 140 Lbs.

This goal is a bit more realistic than last time I hope. Starting to get down to a normal healthy body fat percentage, so I'll slowly be decreasing my deficit through these 9 weeks to prevent muscle loss. Factored that into goal weight this time.

haha. 2 pounds difference is quite a bit between the scales. Makes you wonder which scale is the accurate one. Makes me wonder if my scale is accurate...Says my 25 pound weight is 25 pounds...but what if my weight isn't accurately 25 pounds?! I can't trust anything anymore!

I share the sentiment. During my first month, I used four different scales, and they all showed significantly different weight at about the same time. The range would be about 5 lbs. It was rather annoying. I decided to stick with the initial scales I used at the gym doc's for the sake of uniformity in the first challenge. After all, the point is to track how much you have lost, and it's irrelevant whether it was 85->79 or 86->80. That said, my current scales seem reliable because I tried them with different dumbbells, and they were always entirely precise. Besides, it feels a little too complacent and self-congratulatory to convert 177 lbs to 175 lbs 'because the scales are different'.

At least it's all far more trustworthy and less chaotic than electronic BF measurements. Their unreliability is so mind-boggling I'm surprised they are even a thing.

When I started my weight loss journey, I had a scale that showed different results on consecutive weigh ins. I did not realize it at first, but then one day, when the scale gave really odd reading, I tried it again and it gave a different result. I started testing the scale and noticed that it gave a different result pretty much every time I stepped on it. There could be several pounds difference even though nothing changed.

Kinda got sidetracked on my diet this week (obvious reasons lol). Anyways

    Starting weight 176.5
Goal weight: Not sure, maybe between 160-165. Anything in the range will be good enough for me in 2 months.

Mine sometimes gives the first reading wrong, I always step on it three times before I accept that number. Last two readings are usually the same.

I had a glass one from walmart that was like that, several pounds different each time I stepped on it. Right before the last challenge I got one by WeightGurus off amazon which is pretty damn consistent, but it takes a bit to take a reading. I like it though because it's WiFi and automatically uploads my measurements and has a phone app that tracks it. It can then share it's results with a website I like called "trendweight" which tries to eliminate weight fluctuation and show you a true weight loss. Even if I gain 1 pound one day, it may still show a loss of 0.2 pounds that day which ends up being pretty accurate over the long run in predicting what weight I will be. Really helps motivate me ( https://trendweight.com/u/b2686736df2a43/ ).

I'm hoping I can keep motivation throughout this whole challenge. I'm starting to reach at point in my weight lifting that I don't think I'm going to break through eating on a deficit. One of my biggest motivators for continuing my workouts was seeing my squat weight / benchpress weight go up every workout and getting stronger. I don't think that is going to last through this entire challenge...

Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 30 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

For me this was day off of training. I planned on going to the gym today, but I feel like I have not recovered from the workout I did yesterday evening, so only rest for me today.
