    When I don't have my headphones...

    What is it about the times I forget my earphones, or my batteries die, I can't really put my finger on why, but I often have a really satisfying workout.
    I wouldn't knowingly go to the gym, willingly without something to listen to, and a way to listen to it. But maybe I should try it more often.

    Maybe the music is more of a distraction than a way to prevent distractions? Not having it may be making you more mindful of your form, muscles/MMC, and effort.

    hmm it's strange ... i don't like to go to the gym without the headphones. I can't focus on anything when I'm not listening to music :/

    Interesting, for me it's the opposite, if I don't have music I feel off, I spend more time between sets, I don't push as hard.

    That is very interesting. For me it's the opposite too. I forgot my headphones once...and could NOT focus on my workout everything was so distracting! Glad it worked for you! Try it without again and see if you get the same results!

    I know I'm an outlier, but I CANNOT workout while listening to music through headphones. I would literally drop the bar on myself. Background music in the gym is ok most of the time.
