A lot of people got burned hard on it. Don't you think people will dump it fast as soon as they get their money back?

It's not going to be long term hold. But if it pumps half as hard as it did last time there is a lot of money to be made.

Regardless BCC is a great hedge against btc and a safe place to be if btc takes a tumble

Proved? It put up a fight for a day or 2 and then went down like a sack of ****. If anything, I'd say all this drama gave BTC only more power cause a once-serious challenger appeared and looked good for a moment but then got taken down and BTC ended up reaching a new ATH

It seems like Bittrex, Binance, and Etherdelta are the most commonly mentioned exchanges for alt coins.

Bcash isn't going anywhere. When the dust settles it'll be a top transactional crypto along with LTC. Btc will be the digital store of savings.

Alt coins will not recover until bitcoin CORRECTS HARD, like a real natural correction and trades sideways for awhile. Last 5.5k correction doesn't count, that lasted only a few days and was caused by manipulation. Then when bitcoin starts recovering for the hard correction and on its way to a new ATH, that is when alts will boom as well. I don't think this is happening until next year. However there will be a few alts that will do well during this time period, mostly GOAT's picks and PBC picks.

Sold half my remaining WTC at 66k sats during that mini pump right after the fork block. I'm now like 60% out after pulling some out for BCH last weekend. I'll get back in in late December/early January if it's still low but until then I think I can get better returns elsewhere

If I were in your shoes I would do like 3% BTC and 2% ETH. Just make sure to use gemini or Gdax so you don't inquire the huge fees from coinbase. I think long term everyone hopes 2 years from now that you will get 200-300% returns over time. So if you're not comfortable trying to trade, then just buy when you can with what you can and let it ride for a couple years.

Though the 2-3x are no guarantee. Obviously there is always the chance it goes the other way and your money goes down the drain, but most people here are hopeful that won't happen including myself.

Following up on my tether comment above. Was thinking this through more and it seems tether works like a store credit. You can use it to buy things at the exchange/store but you can't cash it out for USD and it doesn't have any USD value outside the exchange.

That's a good way to look at it.

If that tax expert guy is right and every transaction needs to be claimed, then I don't see the point of tether if it has the same tax implications as cashing out to USD.

However there will be a few alts that will do well during this time period, mostly GOAT's picks and PBC picks.
I think the alt market is waiting to evolve to a higher level before we see the next major alt pump. Just think how far crypto has come in the last 4 months alone. We need an earth shattering company to come along ready to make money now rather than crowdfund their startup. This ain't your grandfather's crypto anymore.

Convenience. For me, I don't want to have to move BTC from Bittrex to Gemini every time I want to get out of BTC, especially when it can take hours or days to do so sometimes.

What if it doesn't and your choice is by at 8k now or by at 10k later?
